What the gurus are saying

Gurus consistently praise this balm as a reliable, effective makeup remover that leaves skin feeling moisturized rather than stripped. The blend of black rice and chia seed appeals especially to those with sensitive skin, providing soothing antioxidants without irritation. The fine physical exfoliant (chestnut shell) is subtle enough that you may not notice it's there. The main drawback mentioned is that it can make the sink a bit messy during use.

"House of Hur cleansing balms are some of my favorites. I don't think they're anything crazy special, but that's also why I find myself reaching for them time and time again. I just know they're going to do the job they have to do, which is remove makeup and sunscreen and leave my skin feeling really nice and kind of like moisturized after. It has Black Rice Extract, which is basically an antioxidant that's rich in hydration and is going to help support the skin barrier as well and potentially also calm your skin too. We also have Mexican Chia Seed Extract to help lock in moisture, replenish the skin and leave you with that moisturized, plump feeling. There is a form of physical exfoliant in here in the form of Chestnut Shell Extract, but it is so fine, it almost feels like a powder, if you can even feel it at all. It took me forever to even realize there was like a physical exfoliating function to this. One complaint I do have is that it makes the sink a little bit messy."

"I feel like a lot of you are going to join me in the love for their Midnight Soothing Cleansing Balm. This is for sensitive skin. I consider my skin quite sensitive. If I overuse actives in skincare, if I overuse exfoliators, if I have to remove my makeup once or twice a day, my skin gets really, really sensitive. And it is just sensitive in general, especially after shaving or something like that. This has one of my favorite ingredients in it. That's black rice, which is packed with antioxidants. It has vitamins in it, vitamins B1, B2 and vitamin E, which protects the skin from free radicals. It also has chia seeds which are rich in omega 3, and that's what really helps to nourish and calm and soothe irritated skin. So for those days where perhaps you had a treatment on your skin or your skin isn't feeling quite right. It feels a little bit irritated. This is a great go to for makeup removal and chestnut shell, which I haven't seen in many other skincare things, in general, makeup removers."
