What the gurus are saying

The gurus who tested it praise Polypodium Leucotomos as having strong evidence for preventing sun damage, and one expert noted real-world protection kept their skin noticeably pale during heavy sun exposure. That means it's built on a solid active ingredient backed by research. The main thing to keep in mind is that like any sunscreen, it works best with consistent reapplication every two hours or more often, rather than relying on a single application.

"I love this one, the RO POS UV mune, this is a repurchase. I used this a lot when I was gone, when I was in pure sun, and somebody the other day asked me why I was so pale, so I guess the sunscreen worked. I picked up this version of the Heliocare facial moisturizing sunscreen with the European filters in it."

"Polypodium Leucotomos has probably the best evidence for preventing damage from the Sun and additionally there's a couple things, so Heliocare with the Cornerstone ones, then there's a sun supplement. I think they're working on their concentrations which is good. Topically you just want to go all out so you want to be using sunscreen consistently reapplying probably at least every two hours, even more frequently than what the label says."
