What the gurus are saying

Bare's draw is a shorter ingredient list without the thiolinone preservatives that still show up in Classic Clean, so gurus see it as a possible option if you suspect an allergy. The zinc pyrithione formula treats mild dandruff and rinses moisturizing, not harsh. It does have fragrance, so it won't suit a fragrance-free routine. The roll-up, recyclable bottle earns a nod too.

"Head and Shoulders tried-and-true. Their Bare Shampoo though, I like that the bottle you can actually roll it up so you can get every last drop out of the bottle, and then you can also recycle the bottle and the cap. So, very nice job with that shampoo."

"They've got the Bare line which I really like, [...] and that doesn't have the ingredient, but I don't know why they don't just phase it out of their Classic Clean as well. I was told they were going to but I still see it on the ingredient list so I don't know what that's all about."

"I like this bare line because it doesn't have the thiolinone preservatives like the classic clean. It's a zinc pyrithione shampoo. I shampooed my hair with this last night and followed with this conditioner and these are pretty good. [...] It does have fragrance but these are pretty good."

"The Head and Shoulders Bare range might be a good option if you think you have an allergy because these have less ingredients. There's also ketoconazole in there, which is antifungal and it's in Nizoral. Climbazole is the weaker cosmetic version, and there are some malassezia species that are resistant to it, so if this isn't working for you maybe try one of the other actives."

"This one also contains zinc pyrithione. I really love the fact that when it rinses through it's moisturizing for my hair, effectively treating mild dandruff at the same time not damaging my hair. This one does contain fragrance, I believe I definitely smell something. So if you are not for fragrance-free hair care but also looking for a gentle anti-dandruff shampoo to use, I really recommend checking out this one from Head & Shoulders."

"If you want a really good High Street shampoo this is the one to go for. There is Pure Clean which is really great in the height of summer when your scalp is slightly oily and then there's another version that's more gentle on your hair if your hair is colored. I can essentially shampoo my hair with this and still brush my hair without any conditioner in it. Now I do have a Brazilian blow dry but that is my at the moment my number one sulfavorite shampoo that I'm using."
