Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner.

"I do like this one because it's definitely that full fat water type of situation toner. It's runny. It's very liquidy. There is just like a kiss of body to it, but it's not like thick plumping gel-like type of consistency. It's watery, quickly absorbed into the skin, layerable without being sticky and tacky despite, you know, hyaluronic being in the name, right? I actually really enjoy this. It's very straightforward. I remember the first time I tried this years ago, I was like, it's whatever. But I just kind of slowly and quietly kept using bottles of this and I was like, you know what, doesn't have to be super exciting to impress me. I do really enjoy this one."

"The ingredients are water, betaine, which is a humectant, glycerin, another water magnet, propanediol, another water magnet, then rice extract and ferment. I love both of these. We get a little bit of alpha arbutin with the ferment. It's hydrating and conditioning. I would say you're not going to get much in terms of hyperpigmentation brightening. Having a fraction of percent of alpha arbutin isn't going to do much, but it is a NA safe product. I'm happy for you to wear this if you have dry, dehydrated skin, flaky skin, sensitive skin, rosacea, all of those skin types are going to benefit from this toner. This one is doctor approved for those specific conditions. It comes out very light on the skin."

"When I first tried this I was enamored at how it hydrated my skin. The black rice antioxidants in here were so good for me, and especially when used under sunscreen, not only did it feel amazing but my skin would look better by the end of the day when normally I was used to my large pores and areas of patchiness kind of showing up. This is phenomenal and it is still one of my favorites. It's made in Korea with some of the most hydrating hyaluronic acid and black rice for antioxidants. I would say it's fantastic for combo skin and you can use it if you're dry with a moisturizer or if you're oily on its own. The best part is that they now have a sensitive skin option. In the past they only had the fragranced one which is with lavender, but now they have a fragrance-free sensitive skin safe one."

"I'm pleased that the high quality hyaluronic acid is in this list. If you feel your skin needs that dose of ingredient, reach for this. It's really nice, it feels gorgeous on the skin. It's got a slightly thicker texture, a bit more gel like, and it feels just as nice. The fragrance isn't overpowering, it's there but it's not too much. My skin doesn't tolerate a lot of hyaluronic acid but I've gotten really really well with this, and I think if you like that ingredient, this is probably the one that I would personally recommend."

"Their Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner, it main humectant is of course hyaluronic acids so it provides a really nice hydrating feeling that remains throughout the day and it's kind of like just thicker than water kind of consistency. Rice extract is a really popular ingredient within K Beauty, Haru Haru's version is fermented meaning their fermented black rice extract is two times more effective. It's moisturizing, it's an antioxidant, the black rice leaves your skin feeling plump. This is one of those toners, personally in my opinion, that I love one application for your standard hydration step in your routine, but if you are looking for a dewier glow, say you're going out, you're going to put makeup over the top and you want that glow to shine from within, do a couple of layers with this, a couple after your cleanser and then one more layer before your moisturizer and you're going to get that dewy glow, your skin is going to feel and look super hydrated."

"I really like this one because it really helps to deliver that instant hydration and freshness to your skin but not just instant, it also at the same time keeps your skin plump and hydrated all day long. The secret is really in the fermentation process and the formulation and the technology that really makes this hydrating toner unique from other Korean hydrating toners. It has hyaluronic acid at its core but not just any hyaluronic acid, the unique fermentation process makes the hyaluronic acid much smaller. When you ferment ingredients they're broken down, they're smaller, and they're more readily absorbed into your skin. Especially with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, it's able to better penetrate into your skin into the deeper layers of your skin, so not only does it provide instant hydration but more long-lasting hydration, keeping your skin plump and hydrated all day long. This toner also helps to prepare your skin for the products that you put on afterwards. Aside from the fermentation, the barrier protection with the ultra deep technology really enhances the penetration of other ingredients in this toner, basically providing additional skin barrier support and repair and making your skin barrier more resilient to all the aggressors that your skin faces on a daily basis."

"Next I'm going in with the Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner. I really love a toning step if you have sensitive skin because working in layers of added hydration can really make the skin not just look better, look more plump and supple, but also feel a lot better. Also, a hydrating toner like this can kind of act as a gentle buffer between your skin and any skincare actives that might be irritating like retinoids or acids. You can see it's nice and liquidy, layers very, very nicely under other products, it's super lightweight on the skin. The Haruharu products are also fragrance-free, so I know with people who have sensitive skin, me included, sometimes fragrance can just set things off, and so going in with things that are fragrance-free just helps eliminate that variable from the sensitive skin equation. And already my skin just feels juicier. My skin feels juicy, so I would consider that like my first layer of hydration, just kind of nourishing the skin, babying it a little bit because when we go in with our anti-aging actives we want our skin to be able to handle that."
