It's a gel cream, lightweight, and for me with more mature skin this would be like a summer moisturizer and sunscreen in one, but for someone more oily or acne-prone this could be an all-year-round product. It is so lightweight, hydrates without heaviness, has no fragrance and minimal additives so it won't irritate, absorbs really quickly, and leaves no white cast, with wonderful filter technology from Japan giving broad spectrum UVA and UVB coverage. [...] It truly simplifies your routine, combining six different functions in one, like a lotion, plus a serum, plus a moisturizer, and sunscreen, and [...] it can also be a base for makeup like a primer. It also has a little bit of vitamin C that helps defend against environmental oxidation as well as brighten and improve uneven tone. This is just a lovely product, my go-to in the morning."

"The whitening benefit comes from its additional ingredient of magnesium ascorbal phosphate, which is a vitamin C derivative that's supposed to help brighten skin up. So there is a little amount of it, but very nice product. It soaks into it and sets to a natural finish that's almost matte, which is nice if you have oilier skin. Not crazy about the jar packaging for sunscreen."

"This is one that I've had as a favorite for many years now, it's the Hada Labo UV White Gel. I've been getting this in a jar the past couple of times, but it used to be one that I would get in a tube, and I prefer the tube to this jar packaging, but the formula I love, love, love. This is technically a hybrid sunscreen, it has some really good UV filters, and it does have titanium dioxide in it as well, which can give a bit of a white cast, but in my experience using this it's completely cast free, however if you have a really deep skin tone there's a chance it may show up on your skin. It's not water resistant, so this is one of those day to day everyday moisturizers, there's no tint to it, but the formula gives a nice deep hydration, it has hyaluronic acid in it. You really get a nice healthy moisturized glow to the skin with this, it's not greasy, it's not shiny, I don't get any burning around my eyelids when I wear it, it's really a comfortable wear and spreads on the skin surface really nicely. There's no niacinamide in that, so if you're sensitive to niacinamide you're good to go there. I don't get any peeling with that sunscreen, it's also a really great makeup base. It does have a low molecular weight alcohol in it which makes it a faster absorbing formula, but it's not the least bit drying, the formula overall is very hydrating. It's a really great sunscreen if you live somewhere very hot, it's very fast absorbing and it allows for good evaporation of sweat so you don't feel overheated. I do prefer it in the tube to this jar, I just find the jar a little unwieldy to scoop the product out of."
