What the gurus are saying

Gurus found that Grande Brow contains a prostaglandin analog similar to those in prescription lash serums, making it effective for growing brow hairs and generally well tolerated in the brow area. However, experts flag that these compounds carry risks including irritation, hyperpigmentation, and eye color changes, and that similar active ingredients may not be clearly labeled, requiring shoppers to read the ingredient list carefully. Those considering it may want to patch-test first and watch for any irritation, knowing that stopping use should resolve side effects.

"Products like Grande Brow are very effective for growing brow hairs. These over-the-counter products work because they have something called a prostaglandin analog that functions similarly to what's found in prescription lash serums. Anytime you're applying a topical product like this there is a risk of irritation, so it's something to keep an eye out for, but in general it tends to be well tolerated in the brow area. If you do happen to notice side effects, you can always stop using these topicals and the side effects should resolve."

"Other more popular brands like Grande Lash, Grande Brow do contain these compounds. You have to read the ingredients carefully and look for these and decide for yourself if you're willing to assume the risks associated with these of hyperpigmentation, irritation, changing the color of your eye, and potentially periorbital fat loss. Compounds that are like bimatoprost but not bimatoprost, these other things in cosmetics, they don't have to label them, so you have to go hunting through the ingredient list to find these ingredients and you have to know what you're looking for."
