    What the gurus are saying

This thick, creamy moisturizer works for oily and acne-prone skin without feeling heavy or greasy, a rare combination that experts found genuinely impressive. The formula is fragrance-free and kept simple with rice extract, taurine (a humectant that really hydrates), ceramides and glycerin. It's excellent under the eyes and works well as a night cream, making it a standout for anyone looking for a rich moisturizer that won't feel greasy on oily skin.

"This is the Goodal Vegan Rice Milk Moisturizer. This is just a really nice, thicker moisturizer. It's great for nighttime. I don't use it so much during the daytime, but it's great at night. We've got rice bran oil in here, we've got vitamin E, and then ceramides in here. It's really nice. No scent to it and really works well. And I think the packaging is paper, I think. So that's always interesting."

"Coming in at 15 bucks and in paper packaging is the Goodal Vegan Rice Milk Cream. It's got rice bran oil in it, rice extract, vitamin E. It's got ceramides and uses paper packaging which you just apparently just cut open to get the last amount out, but it's really nice for drier skin types. Actually, I would say even oilier skin types could probably benefit from this. It does end up with a bit of a shiny finish, but if you're using it at night it's not a big deal."

"This one was recommended by Kathleen, it's the Goodal Vegan Rice Milk. I actually really enjoyed this. The packaging is paper, which is kind of interesting. I have a love-hate relationship with it. I get why they're using paper, but sometimes with certain products it gets to be kind of harder to dispense a proper amount. With this one it hasn't been as much of a challenge. Goodal for the most part is super hit or miss for me. Some of their stuff is really nice and really gentle, this being one of them, and some of their stuff is super scented and super just not calming, doesn't feel great on my skin. But this one feels really nice. It's kind of in my opinion like a little bit lighter sister product to the Isntree Yam Root Cream, and it feels really nice. It's a little bit lighter than the one from Isntree but still feels really nice, and no fragrance in it. Overall really nice product, so I'm happy about it."

"I've got the Goodal vegan rice milk cream which is in a paper tube so it's more recyclable. We've got rice bran oil, rice extract, ceramide, vitamin E. This one's really nice and thick but not terribly thick. Really nice product."

"One of my all-time favorites is the Goodal Vegan Rice Milk Moisturizing Cream, free of fragrance, really no-nonsense formula. Ingredient-wise, it's got rice extract which is moisturizing and soothing, fragrance-free basic moisturizer. I really ended up loving this, and it's a great option if you are trying to avoid niacinamide or it bothers your skin. It's got taurine which is an excellent humectant, very hydrating."

"Goodal is a Korean brand I discovered thanks to my Korean Advent calendar. The Vegan Rice Milk Moisturizing Cream is very hydrating, it has a balmy consistency, and it's very nice for dry, very sensitive skin. After I tried this and fell in love with it, I have subsequently purchased and I'm currently using some other products from Goodal that are likewise very good. I highly recommend this if you are just looking for a basic fragrance-free facial moisturizer. It's really good. Korean skincare, their facial moisturizers, there's always something a little extra with them and I can't always explain what it is, but there's a visible difference in the skin when I'm using those Korean moisturizers."

Best Korean Skincare Products Of The Year
"This moisturizer is really no nonsense, which is one of the reasons why I like it the most. It's a fragrance-free cream that's lightweight but deeply hydrating. It has a very simple ingredient list with soy milk in it, which may have some proteins that are hydrating. Soy applied to the skin shows promise for a variety of anti-aging benefits depending on the bioavailability of certain compounds called isoflavones. There is evidence that these ingredients applied topically can have benefits in improving moisture retention, reducing inflammation, and potentially improving the visible signs of skin aging. A lot of people run into issues choosing skincare because niacinamide is in everything, and that's great unless it's not. For those of you who do not tolerate niacinamide, it can be very challenging to find skincare products that don't have it. This moisturizer is for those of you who do not tolerate niacinamide because it has no niacinamide."

This moisturizer is one of those Korean beauties, it really does a number for the little dryness under the eye edge, and then you can take it down to the rest of your face."

KOREAN SKIN CARE WE NEED TO DISCUSS @DrDrayzday
"I have to talk about this moisturizer because it's like a godsend, it's so simple, so basic, the kind of thing you could easily pass up, but I was really impressed. It's the Goodal Vegan Rice Milk Moisturizing Cream, it has ceramide NP and glycerin, and it's free of fragrance with no common allergens. It doesn't have any real fancy ingredients, but the texture and consistency are fantastic, this is a fantastic night cream in my opinion, I adore it, I love the texture, I love the consistency. It almost feels like a very rich eye cream and I use it around my eyes too. Try this one if you have oily but also dry skin, or acne prone skin, because while it's thick and rich and nourishing, it's not heavy and it's not greasy."

"I don't think I've ever tried anything from Goodal, but I've heard good things about the brand. This gentle moisturizing cream contains vegan rice milk and aqua ceramide, and it's supposed to build a comfortable moisture film to help strengthen the skin barrier for 24 hours. It looks like a nice lightweight to creamy facial moisturizer. I'm really excited about this face cream, I'm pretty stoked for it."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Ceramides

Ceramides are part of the skin's own barrier, and moisturisers built around them have evidence for holding water in and settling the tightness and flaking that come with a damaged barrier.

    Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
