    What the gurus are saying

This balm's density and oil content mean a little goes a long way, with some finding it lasting through winters on a single jar at around £27. What stands out for those with compromised skin barriers is that it calms irritation without the sting that even heavy-duty repair creams can bring, making it a reliable choice when skin is sensitised or recovering. You can layer it into day or night routines depending on how occlusive you need your moisturiser to be.

"A little bit of it goes a long way. If you're applying it, you kind of want to melt it in between your fingers before you apply it to let it melt and then apply it. It's very nice if you want to apply it with your retinoid, whatever. Or just after treatments or exfoliants or peels or lasers, it's nice for that. They've got the recovery word in the title for it, which says it all."

"The Glossier After Baume is really nice. It's super thick, a little bit of it, like a thumbnail amount, goes all covers your whole face. I don't necessarily recommend covering your entire face with this because it is a little bit thick, but certain areas that get dry like around my nose and mouth get really dry, especially with allergy season sometimes peeling a little bit. This one contains kaolin butter, babassu oil, probiotic, vitamin. Not much of it has been used because a little bit of it just covers my whole face. This winter I'll probably finish this one up because I got this at the beginning of spring I believe, but it's really wonderful."

"This is one that's great if your skin's really dry or if you did like microneedling that day or if you did some peel at home or peel in the office or whatever and you need something to really SOS your skin. This one costs a very long way I've been working this jar for quite some time. I wouldn't say this one's like the best day in day out for weeks straight because I found if I use this too often too many times in a row it clogs my pores up a little bit, not terribly so but enough where it's noticeable to me. So use it once or twice a week when your skin's really dry or after procedures and things like that. It's the thickest one and certainly one of the most hydrated in the bunch and fragrance free, which is great for sensitive skin, which makes it great for after peel or something like that."

"The Glossier After Balm, this stuff is really thick. I've been using this for my winters now, a couple years, well really since it came out, and I've still got a bunch of it left. It is thick, there's a lot of waxes in here and oils, thick oils, so it's great. You can certainly use this one in your daytime routine or evening routine. It will last you forever. It's not terribly expensive to begin with, I think it's like 27 bucks, and a little bit goes a very long way."
