What the gurus are saying

Gurus are consistently enthusiastic, praising the balm's ability to remove heavy sunscreen and waterproof makeup without stripping or leaving film. Its lightweight, runnier texture is highlighted as especially appealing for humid weather. The standout selling point is value: reviewers emphasize the large size relative to the affordable price point, with a little product going a long way. The only minor friction is that it comes in a large tube, so it takes time to use up, though this reinforces the cost-effectiveness.

"This is the best cleansing balm you will ever, ever use. It costs somewhere in the region of about £12 and you get a lot of product. It's like a full pan of cleansing balm and you only need a little. This is so good for summer because we wear multiple layers of SPF, often water resistant SPF, really difficult to shift. Put a little of this on, massage it in for 60 seconds, rinse away the day. It works that well. I absolutely love it. You get a lot of product. One of these will last me all summer long. Really inexpensive way of doing an effective cleanse. You don't need to be reaching for like the expensive cleansers when I can get this for £12."

"This is a cleansing balm, great as the first step in a double cleanse. If you're the sort of person on an evening you like to do a really nice double cleanse to kick start your routine, this is probably the product that I'd start with. You get an absolute vat of product, 100 ml of cleansing balm, that's quite a lot, probably one of the largest sizes I've seen. It's drugstore affordable, cruelty free, and it's just an absolutely phenomenal product. It's great for those days where you need a little bit more heavy duty cleansing action but you don't want it to strip and dry."

"This one by Geek and Gorgeous washes off without a trace. There's no film. You don't need to have a gel cleanser after it. Obviously, you're going to want to go in with one that doesn't leave a film that you feel like you have to wash off with another cleanse. But this one by Geek and Gorgeous is great. You get a vat of product. It's super cost effective."

"Their Mighty Melt Cleanser is just so easy. Makes it so easy to remove and it's a pretty big tube, too. I mean, it's taking me a while to get through, but just because a little bit does a great job removing eye makeup, sunscreen, all that stuff."

"I've fallen in love with this one, the Geek & Gorgeous Mighty Melt. I love this for summer because it's runnier than traditional waxy balm cleansers, which means it's lighter weight, which means it's much nicer when it's humid. Even though it's been raining in the UK it's been really hot and humid, and it gets rid of every scrap of makeup. I have to say Geek & Gorgeous, I've not put a foot wrong. I really love that product."

"I consider myself a bit of a cleansing balm aficionado at this point, it's hard to be wowed, I haven't been wowed in a long time, and this did it. It's pretty much the texture that does it for me and of course the overall user experience. This has that textural refinement that in my experience is usually reserved for the very high-end Japanese cleansing balms, and of course this does have Japanese technology in it. Does not sting the eyes and rinses off completely without residue. This will remove it all, from the very resistant sunscreens to waterresistant, stubborn eye makeup. It's one and done."
