What the gurus are saying

Three strength options mean beginners can start at 0.05 instead of the standard 0.1. Gurus value this customization as a real advantage for retinoid newcomers, and they also appreciate the brand's transparency: it publishes pH, percentages, and sourcing so you know the formula won't degrade and every ingredient is there for a reason.

"This is the one I have used and tested the longest, starting way back last year. This one is still probably my favorite of all the budget retinaldahhides I've ever tried. It actually comes in three strengths: a 0.05, a 0.1, and a 0.2, similar to the concentration that's in the 2 prequel. I really love that because if you've never used a retinoid, I don't love starting at 0.1. I really really like starting at 0.05 and you can do that with the A-Game 5. I love Geek & Gorgeous brand because they are really everything I look for in a skincare brand. They're super transparent with how they formulate their products. They tell you the pH of the product. They tell you percentages of everything that's in the product. They tell you where they source things so that we know they're stable. They're very into the science behind the skincare, which really speaks to me as a dermatologist. I find all of their products extremely thoughtfully formulated."

"I still love my Geek and Gorgeous A-Game Retinaldehyde Serum. I find this one to work pretty good with fine lines and wrinkles. The nice thing is this will work well for most skin types, including dry and oily. For acne prone skin, there are a few ingredients of note though, so keep that in mind if you have acne prone skin. We've got haba oil, vitamin E, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate, and carbomer, so keep in mind if you have acne prone skin, this may be not the best, although the retinaldehyde may kind of cancel some of those out, since some of those are very comedogenic. As for price, this is the full size, 1.7 oz, 50 milliliters, and it retails for $35."

"This is the Geek & Gorgeous A-Game range. They do a five, a ten, and a twenty: the twenty is the highest strength, the five the lowest, the ten in between. It uses retinaldehyde, which studies show delivers up to 11 times greater benefit, without the sky-high price tag that comes with Medik8. So if you're someone that's currently using retinol and you want to switch to retinaldehyde for the greater benefits, you can always opt for this, a more budget friendly option. It's a more simplistic formulation, but it's still going to be backed up by those studies which show retinaldehyde to be so much more efficacious than retinol. It's not the Medik8 product itself that's delivering 11 times the greater benefit, it's the retinaldehyde that the brand have chosen to use in this."

ERASE WRINKLES FAST - 4X More Collagen (5 Key Ingredients)
"One of my absolute favorites is this, the Geek and Gorgeous A-Game. Comes in three different strengths, you have the five, the ten, and the twenty. The twenty is really up there in terms of strength, so you're going to get some great outcomes, and because of the formulation you shouldn't get too much side effects and irritation. I would recommend starting with the lower strength and working your way up, but get a little retinal in your life. Proven to increase the rate of collagen elastin production and also just to help that collagen we already have work a little bit more effectively."
Proven to BOOST COLLAGEN - Best Ever Anti Aging Skincare
"One of my favorites is this retinal. This is the Geek & Gorgeous A-Game Retinaldehyde Serum. It comes in three different strengths. Retinal is still clinically proven to deliver that pro-collagen benefit but is often more sensitive-skin friendly. So if you're somebody that has really sensitized skin and you're a little bit worried to go for one of the super high potency prescription options, or you don't have access to them, retinal is a really great over-the-counter product that you can access and still get some great collagen-boosting results."

"The Geek & Gorgeous A-Game Retinaldehyde Serum is an affordable retinol. This is my preferred retinoid because over the counter it's usually quite affordable if you go with the right brand, and much more high performance than retinol but less sensitizing on the skin. Getting an affordable retinaldehyde in a cream base is amazing, and this is the best of the best. If you prefer your retinol in a cream base, the Geek & Gorgeous is gonna work for you. This is stunning, and I think this was like number one or two in last year's list. Still up there, still hard to beat."

"The other repurchase is the Geek and Gorgeous A-Game for my husband, in 0.05% retinal amide, though he usually uses the 0.1% retinal amide, the A-Game 10. I picked both up at my local DM which is very handy because I don't have to order online and worry about meeting the requirements for free shipping."

"Now talking of grand actives, I've moved on from retinol now. I still do use retinol as well, but most of the time I use a retinaldehyde. Geek and Gorgeous have a 0.05 retinaldehyde and it's brilliant value for money, often sold out. Geek and Gorgeous have a stronger version now, theirs is 0.1, so now you're really getting to a decent percentage."
