"It's a high-dose azelaic acid but in derivative form. It's a water-based serum, unlike the emulsions that I've talked about earlier. So if you like that really lightweight water-based serum, this could be a great option for you. It's just a really nice affordable azelaic acid derivative. And I think that for me, it's nice to have in the market so that people really have choice. Just be aware that you're going to have to invest a little bit longer to see those results, but that's fine. I always say skincare is a marathon, not a sprint. And this is kind of like a foolproof way to use your azelaic acid."

"If you're looking for something that's super gentle, derivative form is a really great option. And my personal favorite is the Geek and Gorgeous A.P.A.D. It'll calm, it'll soothe, and it'll help restore equilibrium in the skin in the long term. You really need to give it a four to six week run in, probably 12 weeks in order to make sure the skin is really primed and set, ready for introducing any higher potency actives. It is a great option though, super inexpensive and one of my personal favorites."

"This is the Geek and Gorgeous A Pad, this is an azelleic acid derivative meaning it's super gentle for people that are still a little skeptical about the idea of using azelleic acid with your retinoid. It's even more gentle than azelleic acid in its pure form, so this is a super gentle beginner option or for people that are still a little bit dubious about using azelleic acid and retinoids together. This is a really great option to just slot into your skincare routine to get all those additional benefits."

"If you've got advanced hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, or anything like that, this works so so so well. You get a light tingling from it because after all, it's an azelaic acid. You can use them side by side. I would use azelaic acid twice a day, whereas your retinoid you're going to want to use once a day on an evening. That way, it's just going to be so much easier in terms of your retinoid application, minimizing side effects, sensitivity, and irritation."

"I really didn't know much about acid until I tried the Geek and Gorgeous Apad Serum, and this is probably going on six or seven years ago now. Within the first week I was blown away as one of the few products that I can say really made a huge difference in my skin very quickly. Acid is amazing, and for me, I think I'm rosacea prone, but my hyperpigmentation and melasma is the biggest issue I have with my skin, and it really helped brighten it up. It helps with redness as well. The formula has panthanol, a skin soothing ingredient; betaine salicylate, which is a mild exfoliant; lanolin, which is skin soothing; licorice root, another soothing and brightening ingredient; neem extract, which is an antioxidant; green tea water, which is an antioxidant; sodium hyaluronate, which is a hydratant; niacinamide for brightening and anti-acne; aloe and beta-glucan, which are both soothing and hydrating ingredients; and centella and centella root extract, which is antioxidant, skin soothing, wound healing, and anti-inflammatory."

"The Geek and Gorgeous Apad Serum, I really love this one. It's super gentle. It's got 20% potassium azelate, which is a derivative of azelaic acid, which is known to be very gentle, so if you haven't used azelaic acid before, it's a nice product to start with. It's great for reducing redness from blemishes, pigmentation, and just plain redness in the skin, and at the same time it's gentle and non-irritating. There's not a ton of other ingredients in here, it's really affordable, and it's just a short ingredient list, so there's not a lot of other ingredients that might irritate your skin. "Geek and Gorgeous Apad Serum. Wonderful product. This one uses their human fibroblast conditioned media, they have a trademark on it. It also contains peptides and botanicals, great for anti-aging skin renewal. It's certainly made a huge difference in my fine lines, noticeable difference. But it's $295, which is really expensive. It's on sale from time to time. It's worth buying it on sale. At Dermstore you can subscribe to it and if you subscribe and then change your mind like a month later you don't want to subscribe to it, you can cancel it and they give you an extra discount if you subscribe."

"Geek and Gorgeous Apad uses an AHA acid derivative and I found that made huge differences in my skin just within like 30 days it was amazing. If you have rosacea, hyperpigmentation, melasma, or acne, if you haven't tried AHA acid, check it out, it's amazing. And it's also pretty friendly. A lot of other acids like glycolic acid or lactic acid or salicylic acid can be sensitizing, but AHA acid I've yet to find any issues using it, even on my neck, so it's a wonderful ingredient for so many different things. It's also got niacinamide which is anti-acne and skin brightening, panthenol for soothing and wound healing, a lot of centella in here with centella leaf extract, centella asiatica extract, and centella root extract which are all soothing, antioxidant, help with redness and are anti-inflammatory, and snail secretion filtrate which is antioxidant and an amazing ingredient that contains glycoproteins, enzymes, hyaluronic acid, copper peptides, antimicrobial peptides, and trace elements of copper, zinc, and iron."
