What the gurus are saying

Microcurrent devices like this one lack strong evidence backing their results, according to dermatologists who weighed in. One expert called it ineffective for the price at $240 and suggested other products would deliver better outcomes. Another tester noted concern about muscle contraction on higher settings, preferring to stick with gentler levels. The device itself feels premium in hand, but the science behind what it can actually do for your skin remains thin.

"I think it's actually a terrible device. [...] I just don't think it's going to make any real difference for your skin at all. I think just in general microcurrent has very little if any data. Foreo actually has like a pretty high quality looking device. Like they feel quite premium when you hold them in your hand. But I just don't particularly recommend it, especially for $240. I think there's a lot more products that you could get that you would see probably better results with."

"The new Foreo Bear 2 is different in that it has five levels, and the mini that I tried only had three. I'm hoping on the two lower levels this won't cause my muscles to contract. I don't like to use microcurrent where my muscles are contracting."
