What the gurus are saying

The combination of lactic acid and urea targets the rough bumps of keratosis pilaris while oatmeal and ceramides soothe and support the skin barrier, making it well-suited to the dry skin that often comes with the condition. Dermatologists note the formula balances chemical exfoliation with hydration and barrier care, so those with keratosis pilaris and dry skin may find it addresses both the texture and the underlying dryness without over-stripping.

"First Aid Beauty's KP Smoothing Body Lotion has 10% AHA, predominantly lactic acid, but it also contains urea, which is another great ingredient and can help improve clogged pores and keratosis pilaris as well. In addition, it also has soothing oats, so it's more nourishing and soothing. I think it's really great for those with more dry skin that are struggling from keratosis pilaris."

"They repackaged their KP Smoothing Body Lotion, which they've had for a while now. Alpha hydroxy acids are good for rough and bumpy skin, so lactic acid is good for keratosis pilaris, and urea. This is pretty good overall. It has licorice root and ceramides and colloidal oatmeal, so it really is formulated with the needs of KP in mind. It has very hydrating ingredients and very good barrier supporting ingredients, underscoring the fact that KP is a dry skin condition, but then the acid is to address the dry rough bumps."
