What the gurus are saying

Gurus consistently praise this as an effective, affordable dual-action exfoliant that leaves skin noticeably smooth and helps prevent ingrown hairs. The main split is on intensity: most find the grit-to-gentleness balance just right, but some with sensitive skin or low exfoliation tolerance find it too harsh and easy to overuse. All agree it is strictly for body use, never face.

"The one that I have repurchased the most by far is the KP Bump Eraser from First Aid Beauty. Although they market this for KP, which is keratosis pilaris, sort of the chicken skin that people can get on their upper arms or on their thighs and buttocks, I use this on my skin everywhere. I think the reason I keep going back to this one so much is that the grit in there is just so particular. It's very gritty, but it's not sharp. So I get a lot of incredible buffing when I use it. I do like small circular motions over my whole body, but my skin doesn't feel irritated or stripped when I'm done with it. Also, this formula is not just physical exfoliation. It has alpha hydroxy acids and beta hydroxy acid, salicylic acid in there. So you're getting this dual chemical and physical exfoliation. I use this in the shower one to two times a week. And I actually like to do my exfoliation towards the end of my shower once the hot water has been on my skin and helped soften up the cells a little bit so that they just exfoliate off much easier. And I'm pretty generous with this. Like I'll squeeze a lot out of the tube because I want it to feel like a full spa experience. And I always use it on a day that I'm going to shave because it helps remove some of those surface dead skin cells so they don't clog my hair follicles and make me more likely to get ingrown hair."

Skincare Mistakes I Will NEVER Make Again as a Derm | Dr. Sam Ellis
"My favorite is probably the First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser. It's got some alpha hydroxy acids in there in addition to the physical exfoliation, but I find that it just makes my skin and my booty so smooth and it prevents ingrown hairs like that has been tried and true for me for so many years."

"The one that I reach for over and over and over again because it makes my skin so smooth is the First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser. It's got a good sized solid grit to it but the grit isn't sharp. I've found in other body exfoliants sometimes the little particles themselves are sharp like I've cut myself on them before, and it also has alpha hydroxy acids in it which is chemical exfoliation so you're getting a dual action exfoliation, the physical and the chemical. It's so satisfying to have that instantly soft smooth skin. I think the KP Bump Eraser is too rough for use in more delicate areas like the genital region or the armpits so I recommend using a little exfoliating mitt for prepping those areas for shaving."

"First Aid Beauty, also a Sephora brand. I am a fan of a lot of their products. They make great products that are targeted toward keratosis pilaris, which is an issue we see a lot in the derm practice. So, I do recommend First Aid Beauty products often to my patients. I also love their ingrown hair peel pads, which is great for people with ingrown hair. So, use alongside a retinoid. I'm also a big fan of their radiance peel pads. I think that those are gentle and are great exfoliant for people who want something to improve texture, hyperpigmentation, but don't want anything too harsh. Huge fan. The price point's not terrible."

"This combines both chemical and physical exfoliation for a gentle but effective formula. If you're looking for a formula that's going to chemically dissolve keratin but also gently buff out that top of the skin, this is a good one to try. It combines physical and chemical exfoliation to smooth that rough bumpy skin. It uses glycolic and lactic acid at a combined level of 10% AHA to dissolve the keratin plug while those fine pumice beads provide gentle physical exfoliation."

"For a body care treat I'm going in for the First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub. This uses glycolic and lactic acid at 10% to help exfoliate the skin, but it also has some scrubbies in it which is great for my rough elbows and knees."

"The KP Bump Eraser from First Aid Beauty is really densely loaded with pumice, has a toothpaste sort of texture, and is just really thick and really intense as a scrub. I have a very low tolerance when it comes to beauty products, so this one is actually borderline too much for me. My biggest tip here for KP is that you do need to really be consistent with exfoliating. You can't just try to overload yourself on one day and then hope that that will last for two weeks."

"The KP Bump Eraser from First Aid Beauty, I liked it for a while until I discovered the scrub from Narium, and this one is just very rough. The scrubbies in it, it's just a little too harsh for my skin. It's very easy to overdo it and end up actually scratching yourself, especially in more sensitive areas like around your underarms. And it's less of a cream sort of formula, so it balls up and falls off the skin pretty easily. It has 10% AHA, it's fine, but it's not my first choice. I much prefer the Narium one."

Um I'm sorry but I'm obsessed with these
"I loved the First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser, the body scrub that has AHA and BHA. I had been using that forever. I don't really get KP bumps, I get a little bit sometimes like right here on my arm, very annoying, but when I use that scrub we get nothing, skin nice and exfoliated and healthy. I usually use it like one or two times a week. The First Aid Beauty one is a little bit more gritty, it's like kind of a gray color, a little bit more gritty. It kind of breaks up a little bit which I don't love."

"First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub with 10% AHA is something that I would only recommend that you use on the body but not the face because it does feel a little bit scrubby. It has pumice buffing beads, it's borderline physical. Your body can tolerate this but never your face. Some people might think it's a great dupe to use as a physical exfoliant for the face, but the reality is you do not want to do that, especially if you are prone to breakouts on your face, because your face is more sensitive and you'll get micro tears and you'll make the breakouts more inflamed and you'll get worsening of your scars. If you have KP, which is non-inflamed growth around your hair follicles around your arms and your legs, you can use this to help to buff it. Let it sit on your skin so that the acid can work its magic and then work on buffing it before you wash it off. Make sure your skin gets skin time with it."

"First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub with 10% Alpha hydroxy acids, which are basically glycolic acid or lactic acid. This one feels like sand at the beach. I would not use this on your face at all because you do not want to get micro tears that can lead to furthering worsening of your inflammation, but on the body our skin is much thicker and able to tolerate it."

"This product is actually really nice and I'm recommending it because it's more gentle compared to some of the other scrubs that I have used or have seen in the past. It's marketed for helping with body bumps, keratosis pilaris, and in general, if you use this regularly by removing and scrubbing away the dead skin buildup it can help because dead skin is what clogs up the hair follicles and leads to those bumps. For individuals that have mild KP or have strawberry legs, certainly using this as long as you're gentle, and this product overall is pretty gentle, is not going to inflame your skin and make it worse."
