What the gurus are saying

Experts split on whether this actually blurs as promised. Some love how skin-like and mattifying it feels on oily skin, with buildable coverage; others found it went on shiny and glowy, the opposite of blurring, and doubt it will hold up over time. Fenty's shade range and the tint-stick format win praise.

"I've been loving and using the Fenty Beauty skin tint by itself a lot, and today I mixed it with the Kylie Cosmetics skin tint. Whatever's happening here is working and it looks really nice. If you guys happen to have these in your collection, give that a go because wow, it sure does look really, really nice. Everything looks so nice on the skin."

Oh my… these favorites are REALLY good 😍
"This is the Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blur + Smooth Tint Stick. This is so spectacular. I've always heard good things about it. I wear the shade two and it looks so skin-like. I love how it's kind of blurring, but it also looks just like your skin. It is so fabulous and a great product for like spring and summer."
WHAT I BOUGHT AT ULTA & SEPHORA 🙈
"Since I have oily skin, I love how the skin tint mattifies and conceals but still looks natural. It offers more coverage to build up if needed and is perfect for everyday, especially in summer."
What I Bought at Sephora... Uh oh 😬
"I bought two foundations um well three cuz I I got two shades in this I got the chaso skin glow foundation and then also the Fenty EAS drop sticks"

"When it was, like, instantly blurring, it was not. Actual lie. It went on my skin, kind of like, shiny, like a glowy foundation. The thing is, when you have a product that has a glow to it on the skin, it isn't blurring. You have to kind of like, it has to be smooth and matte to look blurred, right. I was obviously like, okay, that's not blurring my skin in any way at all. It's actually, if anything, it's making me look sweaty. And also, that means, to me, if a product is kind of like glowy, shiny, glossy on the skin, it's not going to be long wearing as it claims to be. There's no way something that kind of texture can sit for that long. And yes, you can have, like, a bit of a glow and it can be long wearing, but that kind of, like, it was almost greasy on me, is not going to be long wearing at all."

The Most Boring Collection ever? New Makeup Releases
"This does look incredible. And I'll be really interested in trying it. You know what, I kind of miss a foundation stick. Do you remember back in the day when it would just be like, foundation sticks everywhere? I used to love the Benefit one. And foundation sticks were always made for oily skin, even though they were actually terrible on oily skin. But yeah, I'm really, really excited about this one. I'm looking at the shades. I'm assuming the shades, especially coming from Fenty, who do skin shades really well, I'm assuming these are more universal because they are a bit of a tint rather than a full coverage. So we have lesser shades compared to their usual line, but still a good choice of shades here. I'm really looking forward to this one."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Sunscreen filters

Sun protection is the best evidenced way to slow visible ageing, and the filters are what does the work. Mineral and chemical filters both protect when a product is applied thickly enough and often enough, which is where most people fall short rather than on the choice of filter.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
