"I think that there was a bit of a gap in the market when it came to what people want to look like. I think that you're either told that you want to be a clean girl and you want to wear three products and no more, or you're a makeup wearer and you've got a makeup bag full of stuff and it's a full face every day with full coverage. I think that we sit right in the middle of that, but most people do. Our products lean either way, and that makes me really excited. Someone messaged me the other day saying thank you so much for showing me how to pair all the different parts of me together and feel really good about it. You can kind of choose who you want to be that day. "Fenty Beauty, in my opinion, has reached iconic status in the beauty world. It's up there with all the best, the greats. They came into the beauty industry not with a 'we're a new brand' kind of energy, but the energy like, 'we are a brand and we have done it better than everyone else. We're here to take over. We're setting the new standard.' But it does feel like recently, Fenty hasn't been making the big, huge splashes like they used to do in the beauty world, not just online but also offline. It kind of seems like people have lost a bit of interest or just perhaps they aren't gravitating towards the brand with as much excitement as they used to. I have huge respect for Fenty as a brand. What they have done in the beauty industry in terms of inclusivity, shade range, they really set the standard and an expectation and they've showed us what a brand can really do when they have a budget."
