What the gurus are saying

The guru community remains cautiously skeptical. Dermatologists emphasize the lack of robust clinical trials in humans and warn that preclinical promise rarely translates reliably to real-world results, plus treatments are costly and potentially ongoing. There is minimal published scientific evidence supporting efficacy, particularly for hair loss, though experts acknowledge the mechanism is theoretically sound and note that future data may clarify the treatment's actual place among alternatives. One sponsored review praised the concept, but independent medical reviewers consistently flag this as premature hype.

"Exosomes are super overhyped and to get excited about them is premature. Where are the clinical trials with this in my opinion? You have to understand that preclinical science does not often translate to humans. If you try and translate pre-clinical studies prematurely to humans you might discover that there are adverse effects that you didn't know about. The thing about exosomes too is it's a very costly endeavor and it's the kind of thing you have to presumably continue to receive in order to maintain the results. Definitely not something at this point that is indicated by any large clinical studies in actual people, and it just seems kind of out of reach for most people."

"Exosomes may actually work in a very similar way but there is very little scientific evidence so far that using exosomes helps with thinning hair except for one small study out of South Korea. But even though there's not a lot of scientific evidence it does not mean that exosomes don't help you with your hair, it just means that the studies haven't been published yet. In my opinion using exosomes is an exciting new way to potentially improve hair loss but more data really is needed to determine exactly where this treatment lies compared to all the other options for thinning hair."

"This is exosomes, which contains all that good genetic material and growth factors, and then you micro needle it into your face."
