What the gurus are saying

The gurus who tried this praised it across the board for a comfortable, flattering finish that doesn't feel tight or cling to dry patches. Several experts noted the iron oxides offer extra protection against visible light, which matters if someone deals with hyperpigmentation or melasma. The formula also contains licorice root extract to calm redness, and notably skips niacinamide, so it suits anyone whose skin reacts to that ingredient. The finish reads sheer and skin-like rather than obviously matte, with a gentle smoothing effect that feels especially wearable in summer.

"I have Eucerin Sensitive Mineral Face. My patients have been liking this sample quite a bit. I'll use it after chemical peels. Iron oxides will help block visible light as well as the UVA and UVB. Invisible light we have found is a big contributor to flaring hyperpigmentation and melasma. So if you have hyperpigmentation, try to go with a tinted sunscreen."

"I have two all mineral sunscreens that I absolutely love for normal to oily skin. I love Eucerin Sensitive Mineral Face. This is more dry touch matte finish but still it looks really natural. I love using this. It feels similar to Super Goop skin tints, a similar experience, same kind of finish. It's really sheer, it applies beautifully, but also has a bit of a skin perfecting effect. I feel like it just smooths everything out as well. I find this very flattering especially in the summer."

"I really like this Eucerin Sensitive Mineral Face SPF 35. It's a dewy finish. It has licorice root extract in it, which is good for redness and it's an antioxidant, also good for hyperpigmentation. It does not have niacinamide in it either, which I'm pointing that out because I know some of you guys are sensitive to niacinamide. The other nice thing about this is that if you are someone whose skin tends to heal with a dark mark, the iron oxides from the tint can help protect against non-UV wavelengths of sunlight that lead to more early onset and more stubborn hyperpigmentation."

"This formula is amazing. They say this is a matte formulation, I would say that this is more of that skin-like finish. It doesn't exactly give your skin that glow but it feels comfortable. It doesn't feel drying on the skin. It does not cling to dry patches, which is really important for me. I don't like when sunscreens cling onto dry patches where you have that flakiness. I hate when sunscreens make my skin feel tight. This one does not. This one is very moisturizing. It's incredible."
