What the gurus are saying

Gurus find this genuinely longwearing with full coverage and a strong shade range for deeper skin tones with proper undertone options. It's fragrance-free and won't clog pores, making it a solid pick for anyone with acne-prone skin. However, some note it can read drying, so anyone with parched skin may want to patch-test first or pair it with a richer moisturizer.

"I actually really love this formula. It's been something that I've more recently incorporated back into my routine."

"This foundation has a solid shade range for deeper skin with good undertone options. The coverage is full and it truly lasts all day without breaking down or oxidizing. It handles hyperpigmentation really well and doesn't budge through heat or humidity. The formula is buildable without getting cakey. It does have a more matte finish, so if you want something ultra dewy, this isn't it. But for long lasting, reliable coverage, this delivers."

"My other foundation I still use, I've literally had this for two years. I still have some left, but when that runs out, I'm gonna get the Estée Lauder Double Wear, I think is what it's called."

"I used to use the Estée Lauder Double Wear, but it just got a bit too drying for me."

"It's definitely an amazing foundation. I never found a shade that worked well for me, so I kind of just let it go and never really got hardcore into it personally. But I appreciate that it's a great formula, it's incredibly longwearing, full coverage, looks flawless, all those things. I still recommend it to people. When somebody tells me they don't like skin tints, they don't like all these new things, and they just want a classic foundation, I say you need Double Wear. It ticks all the boxes of what a person looking for a good foundation would need. Full coverage that's going to last all day, not going to look cakey, going to look like a skin finish. And they had one of the best shade ranges available. Not over-luminizing, not overly matte, it's a satin finish. It's a good classic foundation."

"A couple of foundations that do actually seem to be okay for acne-prone skin: one is the Estée Lauder Double Wear. It's non-comedogenic and contains no fragrance."
