It's actually good for you to be using a topical retinoid in the sunnier months because it helps to protect collagen in your skin to a certain extent by limiting activation of matrix metalloproteinase enzymes that get upregulated with ultraviolet radiation that then destroy your collagen and facilitate wrinkles and premature skin aging. Adapylene also has this anti-inflammatory effect that can be beneficial as well."
