What the gurus are saying

Gurus split sharply by skin type and use case. Dry-skin reviewers praise it as a smooth, radiant makeup base that doubles as a primer or mask. Makeup professionals and those with oily skin reject it as unnecessarily thick and universally unnecessary, arguing it's overhyped as a backstage staple without modern skincare innovation. The consensus hinges on whether you need (and can tolerate) its heavy occlusive formula.

"It's fine if you want that instantly smooth plump base, which is why makeup artists love it. But a makeup artist's secret to a good base doesn't always transfer into good skincare. It's a very old school emollient cream, rich and occlusive, but not particularly innovative when it comes to skin barrier support like all the new hydration technology we have or long-term skin health. For the price and the hype, you're mostly paying for its reputation as a backstage favorite at fashion shows. There's just so much more innovation to skincare now."

"This is so thick, not everybody needs a thicker [moisturizer], and it really makes me mad when people say like everyone needs Embryolisse, no they don't. Not everyone is going to survive Embryolisse. A really oily-skinned client is not going to benefit from having Embryolisse under their makeup, period. You will not find Embryolisse in my pro kit. No, I've never seen it. Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré and La Mer is is King for skin prep? No, it's not. Sorry, yeah, I'm here to tell you no, it's not."

Please STOP Being Afraid of Powder.. Here's Why
"I'm going to use the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré. If you're a dry skin girly and you love wearing makeup I highly recommend checking this out. This is one of the most popular just basic facial moisturizers that's so good for underneath makeup. It's really special and it just works really well."

"The Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré acts as that perfect makeup primer, your makeup just applies so nicely on top of this, but this also gives your skin that nice radiance and that glow and it moisturizes like a dream. You can use this as a makeup primer, as a moisturizer, or even as a mask. This really is perfect as that leave-on product. This is a wonderful product if you have dry skin, but if you have oily or combination skin you are still going to love this. It does have fragrance, just so you know."
