"This is a zinc oxide-based sunscreen. What I love is that it has green tint in it. So if you have rosacea, seborrhea, dermatitis and you deal with redness and you have a hard time masking that redness, you can actually hide the redness with a green tinted product because green compliments red on the color wheel. [...] This is my new go-to for my patients with rosacea who have very sensitive skin and don't want the chemical UV filters that could potentially irritate their rosacea. [...] I love the lightweight texture of it and you will not look like Elphaba. This blends in perfectly. Even if you don't have redness, I've applied it to my face and this blends in so well."

"Their UV recovery green tinted sunscreen, SPF 50. Such a great product. I love it for my patients who have redness, who deal with redness from rosacea, eczema, and seborrheic dermatitis, and they need to hide that redness with their sunscreen. The UV recovery is a very nice lightweight product to neutralize that redness and just a nice elegant finish. "I wanted to highlight EltaMD's new UV Skin Recovery, this is a red color correcting face sunscreen that comes out green. So for my patients with rosacea I'm going to start recommending this sunscreen to them. This is zinc oxide only SPF 50, and the green tint will complement the red and hide the red so you can go ahead and wear that the next day if you have broken blood vessels, flushing with rosacea. When you're using a retinol you want to protect your skin and not have a rosacea flare, because if you have a rosacea flare it's going to be really hard to tolerate your retinol. So we want to avoid rosacea flares as much as possible and sun is one of the most common triggers for rosacea. I was able to try out the products and I've been really impressed by this green tinted sunscreen that really blends in well even in skin of color. "I am still partial to one of my favorite, probably one of my top three favorite sunscreens ever. It's the green tinted one. This is 100% mineral. It is green tinted. Green hides red. Redness prone skin is my issue. This is great for more mature skin. It's just green tinted. No white cast once you rub it in. And it's so lightweight on the skin and it does such a good job. It is SPF 50. It's really great on the skin barrier. If you use things like retinoids in your routine. But it is very pricey. So, beware."

"It's a subtle natural soft finish. It's not this dewy, oily, shiny, glass skin kind of gimmicky sunscreen. It's straight up a workhorse sunscreen that will keep your normal skin looking normal. [...] This is [...] all mineral and absorbs and spreads very nicely over the skin with minimal white cast. It has no sunscreen scent. It does not smell like you're putting the beach on your skin or [...] any other fragrance. It just has a very neutral, it's not even there type of scent."

"You can see no white cast, really nice hydrated dewy finish and a little bit less redness overall. Let this set in for 15 to 20 minutes and this redness even fades more. It's a great sunscreen. The other thing I wanted to say about this is it is really gentle on the skin. There's no stinging, there is no irritation, there's no stinging of the eyes, even when you get this right up under the eyelids. Throughout the day, if you sweat, if a little bit of it runs down the face, no stinging of the eyelids, which is so nice for this sunscreen. So very much a luxe sunscreen, but to me, I have been enjoying it so much since it launched. It's so nice on my skin, and I love the reduced redness that this gives. It's mineral SPF 50 with zinc oxide, and it blends really nicely. It has that transparent zinc, so it really has no white cast."

"This is a really, really nice sunscreen. [...] The color correction is actually very [...] mild. Don't expect a strong color correction, but [...] it feels really good on the skin. I really enjoy it. So if you feel like you get too much correction with like a Dr. Jart's, if it leaves you looking ashy or a little gray slated, this might be the one for you. But for those of us who have rosacea or sensitive skin with dilated blood vessels, this spectrum is really going to do two things for you: protect your skin and also decrease that kind of hue."

"There's the one from EltaMD, their UV Recovery. I think the green is nice, it probably reduces redness by about 20%, but it's not a thick green coverage so it's not going to completely block out your redness. I still like the EltaMD one the best, I love the way it either strongly or subtly decreases the red hue in your skin, but it is a very soft cushion for redness."

"This is a completely mineral based sunscreen made with 12.9% zinc oxide, so it's the only sun filter in it, giving you broad spectrum coverage over both UVA and UVB at SPF 50. It was originally developed for the post procedure or sensitive skin patient, so if you have very sensitive skin and chemical sunscreens burn or sting you, a complete zinc oxide sunscreen like this is going to be much more gentle. The key ingredients, a 2% amino acid complex, a blend of ceramides, and centella asiatica, are all designed to help repair and restore the skin barrier, which is why it's great for sensitive skin and can also be used after nonablative laser procedures like IPL or BBL that induce redness. Even though it's a pure zinc oxide sunscreen it's really not leaving any white cast on my skin, though if you have darker skin types this is something you'll want to test first. It has a very lightweight feel, it's not sticky, and it doesn't smell like an overwhelming chemical sunscreen. Their clinical studies showed it reduced visible redness after just one use, reduced overall skin redness by 52% in about 12 weeks with continued use, and reduced dryness by 72%, so you probably don't need a separate moisturizer while using it. It feels great on the skin and I love the way it looks and feels. If you're looking for a new sunscreen I do highly recommend the EltaMD UV Skin Recovery. It's been one I've been recommending frequently to my rosacea patients, and I've been using it myself after lasering my face a couple months ago and loved the results even for myself."
