What the gurus are saying

Dermatologists consistently praise this sunscreen for its hydrating formula and effective tint. The hybrid filter system, hyaluronic acid base, and inclusion of brightening actives like niacinamide and licorice root earn approval for treating and preventing simultaneously. The main drawback cited is the steep $88 price tag, though reviewers acknowledge the formulation quality justifies the cost for those who can afford it.

"Ulta MD, most of the sunscreens they make are great. They're tinted sunscreens are really wonderful. They're pretty much even enough where if you have fair skin, it'll work, or if you have deeper skin tone, it'll generally work. The one thing that some of these Ulta MD ones don't have is a lot of shade options, but a lot of them, for the most part, unless you're extremely fair, will work well. And for deeper skin tones, a lot of times they just kind of melt in. But sometimes when you're super pale or fair, on the very fair side, they can look a little too dark."

"The UV daily tinted would be a great product for dark spots. It has niacinamide in it and is hyaluronic acid based, so it's a little bit more hydrating. It actually gives you more of that dewy look. It's a hybrid sunscreen, so it has both chemical and mineral filters. It's tinted and you also have alphabutin, niacinamide, and licorice root, so it's treating and preventing in one formula. It's a bit pricey at $88, which can be prohibitively expensive for many people, but their formulation and delivery is extremely good."

"UV daily tinted is exactly the same as UV Clear but more dewy and it doesn't have the niacinamide in it. In exchange for that they do more of a hyaluronic acid hydration angle with this one. So instead of oil control they go more hydration, which is really what I should have been going for. If you're looking for a UV Clear alternative and you find the UV Clear one a little bit on the more drying mattifying side, I think this is a really good option."

"A tinted sunscreen that I'd written off years ago was the EltaMD because it made my skin look too Oompa Loompa. I was given this after my facelift, and it is a close match for my skin tone. It's close, but it's a little bit too opaque for me. It's a little bit hard to work into my skin. I'd rather reach for the In Beauty Project. It's a little bit better of a match."

"I really like the UV Daily Tinted and I feel like I haven't used that much before but I got a hold of the UV Daily Tinted and I really like the tint. It's really quite hydrating with the hyaluronic acid in it."
