What the gurus are saying

The 5% niacinamide concentration earns strong praise for controlling oil without clogging pores, hitting that sweet spot that dermatologists say is ideal for regulating sebum while strengthening skin. The lightweight hybrid formula (zinc oxide and octinoxate) blends quickly and works well for anyone using acne treatments who needs sun protection without disrupting their routine. Not many gurus have weighed in yet, so this verdict comes from just a couple of voices so far.

Best Sunscreens of 2026- Dermatologist Picks
"For those who are dealing with acne and you're afraid to put any sunscreen on your face, this newer one by EltaMD, their UV Clear, Blemish Prone, and Oil Balancing SPF 50, also has niacinamide, 5% niacinamide. In fact, I don't like 10% niacinamide serums because I feel like that's too much of a good thing, but 3 to 5% is that perfect balance where you can really regulate that sebum, not produce too much, but also help brighten the skin and help repair the skin barrier. So this one's great for those with oily skin or if you're actually seeing me or your dermatologist for acne treatments. This is a great way to end your routine to protect your skin without clogging your pores. And the texture of this is also just great, it's just lightweight and just blends in so quickly. This one is a hybrid sunscreen and that's how it can get so lightweight, it has zinc oxide and octinoxate."

"This is really great for people who have oily, acne prone skin because this also contains 5% niacinamide. Niacinamide can help smooth and refine the pores. It can help acne. Can help prevent excess oiliness on the skin. It has zinc, like I mentioned, antioxidants. It's just a great great sunscreen."
