What the gurus are saying

Gurus praise this as a versatile cult classic with genuine staying power. It excels at locking in moisture without rubbing off, works especially well on dry areas like heels and elbows, and doubles as a glossy finish for skin and makeup. The scent is pleasant without lingering. The main trade-off is a greasy feel, which gurus accept as the price of its occlusive protection, especially for travel and harsh conditions.

"The Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream is basically an ointment, but this has been used in the industry for years to create like a glossy effect on every area of the face, body, whatever."

"This is how scented skincare should be, okay? It makes it pleasant to apply, doesn't actively sting your face. This is great on the heels. It's really where it's going to perform the best, honestly. I've also used it on my hands a fair amount. A little greasy, but good for dry hands. The scent here is kind of pleasant. It doesn't really linger or anything."

"This is the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, which has an old school cult following for a long time and I could see why. It's a nice, you know, kind of softening, smoothing, locking it all in. It's really going to lock it in place as opposed to rubbing off on the floor as I walk about and not getting back on my skin."

"8 Hour Cream is a skin protectant. I can see why this skin protectant is so popular. It does what a skin protectant is supposed to do."

"Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, I swear to God the smell of that. They used to use it on your lips, on your elbows, to put sheen on your skin, on your shins, on your eyelids. They'd mix it with eyeshadow to make it glossy because you couldn't really get glossy makeup products that you can get now. So they used to make up makeup products, you know. There wasn't a whole load of different highlighters that you could go for, so they would tap eight hour cream along the cheekbones. It's so funny when I think back now, in a way how limited it was, but also they made it work. All the brilliant things then are still the brilliant things now."

"8 Hour cream, ah I can hook you up. You won't have to buy it ever again in your life. There's so many uses for it. I used to do it as a teenager, slathered it on after a big night out. It's quite nice. 8 Hour cream works as a highlight, grows slick hair, gets rid of flyways."

"Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, you can put it on your eyelids, you can put a little bit on your lips, and if you put a little bit up your nose, which sounds weird, it keeps your nasal hairs damp and stops you getting sick. It's great for travel."

"Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour cream changed my life when I started flying a lot. Your lips love a bit of 8 Hour on your lip, and if you put a little bit up your nose, it keeps your nasal hairs damp and stops you getting sick when you travel. Just be careful because if you get anything white on you, you look like you've been doing coke."
