What the gurus are saying

The gurus who reviewed it praise the matte finish and lightweight feel, particularly for those with oily skin. Because it blends mineral and chemical filters, the experts note it delivers hybrid sun protection without the heavy white cast mineral sunscreens often leave behind. One thing to keep in mind: this formula is niacinamide-free, which makes it a solid pick for anyone avoiding that ingredient or preferring a simpler sunscreen.

"UV clear, they dry down with no shine. They're pretty matte, especially UV clear. In contrast to UV daily, clear does not have niacinamide, so if you're looking for a nice niacinamide free tinted sunscreen, this would be an option."

"The ELA MD line has a lot of tint now. The UV Clear has a tint."

"Ela MD has taken zinc and a chemical and blended them together and created their UV Clear, which patients love it. It is broadspectrum SPF 46 and it is nice for oily skin. It is a very nice lightweight moisturizer that is fragrance free, it's mineral, it has supposedly no white cast. The beauty of a hybrid is that you get the best of both worlds so hopefully cosmetically elegant enough and good protection."
