What the gurus are saying

This balm transforms to an oil on application and earns praise for its nourishing, antibacterial, and protective properties, holding up well against harsh weather and dry environments like airplane cabins. However, those allergic to fragrance should patch-test first, as honey, propolis, and similar ingredients can sometimes trigger cross-reactions. The takes split: one dermatologist finds it decent but fairly basic hydration, while a longtime user calls it a dependable healing workhorse for irritation and environmental stressors.

"Egyptian Magic, a few years ago I reviewed this. It's okay honestly. It's olive oil, beeswax, honey, and propolis. Those are all hydrating, but if you're allergic to fragrance you have to be careful with those ingredients because they can cross react."

"One of my favorite bombs ever and I've been using this for decades is Egyptian Magic. This is five ingredients and all about the honey, the propolis, the royal jelly, the beeswax and olive oil. It's a bomb that transforms to an oil as soon as you apply it. It has real staying power, it's nourishing, it's also antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-microbial. I use this as a healing ointment whenever I have irritation on my skin but I find it also really stands up to harsher elements like really strong wind, bitter coldness, but also with strong heating units as well. One of my secret weapons during long-haul flights."
