What the gurus are saying

The gold-stabilized vitamin C stays clear and doesn't oxidize or turn brown, and reviewers praise how unusually hydrating it feels for a vitamin C serum, with a texture and slip that works well layered under or with other actives. The combination of stabilized ascorbic acid, glutathione, and white butterfly ginger is said to pack serious antioxidant power against UV and blue light damage, while the fermented pomegranate enzyme offers such gentle exfoliation most people won't feel it working. Those with sensitivity to standard vitamin C forms may find the stabilized form gentler, though not many gurus have weighed in on this one yet.

"This is Educated Mess's Golden Hour Vitamin C Serum. We are talking zero irritation for those of you who have a sensitivity to [L-ascorbic] acid. It is super lightweight and it plays so well with others. It also has fruit enzymes to help with texture and the glow of our skin. But the real antioxidant powerhouse is the combination of the [L-ascorbic] acid with gold glutathione. I mean, it is powerful powerful stuff. To me, it's just a joy to use and it's so easy to get into the routine."

"Educated Mess Golden Hour is a gold stabilized vitamin C serum so it doesn't oxidize as quickly, it's not going to turn brown. It's got gold and glutathione in here which they say provides your skin with the most stable form of ascorbic acid on the market, not only preventing it from breaking down but also extending its shelf life. You get all the benefits of vitamin C. What I love about this serum in particular is how hydrating it is, it feels like a hyaluronic acid serum. We have marine bioferment in here which is extremely hydrating. They say that the bioferment was found to boost components of skin's natural moisturizing factors, helping to reduce water loss from the skin, improve hydration whilst giving your skin that really supple, hydrated, dewy-looking glow. You really feel that from this, your skin feels hydrated, looks supple, bouncy and dewy. I'm using this every morning. Even if this didn't have vitamin C in, if this was just a hydrating serum, it would be my go-to morning serum. I absolutely love it. I love the way it makes my skin look."

"A lot of vitamin C serums don't really focus on hydration, but Educated Mess's Golden Hour, which has vitamin A, gold, and vitamin C, has a texture I've not really come across in a vitamin C serum. It's gloopy and hydrating and clear. It has the gold stabilized vitamin C, which is the first ascorbic acid complex to deliver vitamin C in a 100% stable, 100% active form, then white butterfly ginger, which provides support against factors that accelerate aging like UV, blue light, and internal stress, and a fermented pomegranate enzyme, which is a very gentle exfoliation so gentle you don't even feel it. You can use it alongside other exfoliants."
