What the gurus are saying

Gurus split on the formula's feel and performance. One expert praises its fast-absorbing, lightweight texture and effectiveness for bumpy skin and texture concerns, while two reviewers found it too slippery and balmy, with slow drying time that doesn't justify the price. The scent profile also divides opinion.

"This feels very slippery, it's balmy. I feel like it's sitting on top of my skin. I hate the smell. It smells unscented, you know, in something because when something's unscented, it's it can still have fragrance in it. It's just that they're putting a masking fragrant in there to neutralize the smell. This doesn't say that it's unscented, but it smells like an unscented product to me. I don't know. To me, like I like a thicker lotion. The smell would bother me for that one."

"Drunk Elephant's TLC Glycolic Body Lotion is one of my must-try moisturizers that helps with bumpy skin, keratosis pilaris, uneven skin texture and skin tone on your body. I really like this because it contains a blend of various alpha hydroxy acids including glycolic acid, tartaric acid, lactic acid and citric acid, so really great exfoliants that help to unclog the pores and help with chicken skin, strawberry legs, keratosis pilaris. I think it's also great to use on areas that are prone to shaving bumps on the body. It also contains shea butter as well as plant-derived oils that are nourishing. I love the fact that texture-wise it's very fast-absorbing, it's lightweight but yet hydrating, and doesn't impart a funny scent, which some of the exfoliating, lactic acid based moisturizers can have. It's really fast-absorbing and elegant, so definitely something to try if you're looking for a more elegant, fast-absorbing moisturizer that also helps with dry, ashy, dull skin."

"I'm about a third of the way through Drunk Elephant's TLC Glycolic Body Lotion. I found that this did not dry down very quickly. Glycolic is a great AHA, like I said it gets deeper into the skin, it's a smaller molecule and it helps rebuild collagen and elastin. I just didn't like the formula of this because it seemed to take a long time to dry down. It's a little bit on the pricey side too, so this won't be a repurchase for me."
