"The Drunk Elephant Bouncy Bright Facial is an expensive product but it is one of the best in the market. For the longest time I have always carried the Drunk Elephant azelaic acid. This time I carried Anova and to my surprise this product worked really really well on me when I was in India. I realized that even though I was not breaking out, I was getting like one small pimple, it was not even a pimple, it was almost like a bump. I was getting one or two odd bumps, my skin was a little red, it was just not looking happy. I had not carried any exfoliates with me, I had not carried my retinol or my tretinoid, so I just started using azelaic acid at that time and I realized how amazing this ingredient is. Using the Anova azelaic acid gave me some great results while I was traveling. There was a tiny bit of redness, that got controlled. The tiny tiny breakout that I was getting did not become one big joint pimple. So I was very grateful for it."

"Azelaic acid can help with brightening the skin, improving post-acne marks, hyperpigmentation, and salicylic acid is a great product for unclogging pores and helping with acne. All around this is just a really elegant product to use, almost like a treatment for me with my hormonal acne kicking back up postpartum leaving post-acne marks. I really loved using this a few times a week almost in place of my chemical exfoliant because the 1% azelaic acid itself is a chemical exfoliant. If you have more oily skin, I can certainly see that you could probably use this more frequently. I recommend leaving it on like a sleeping mask, finishing off the rest of your routine and avoiding other chemical exfoliants, any other serums that have alpha or beta hydroxy acid, and certainly probably want to avoid your topical retinoid, then just finish off with a lightweight moisturizer and apply this on as like a sleeping mask or just in place of your moisturizer depending on your skin needs. This would be like a moisturizer and treatment in one."

This is one of those masks that you add as a treatment at the very end of your skincare routine before sunscreen during the daytime or just at the end if you're doing your skincare at night. I love that this has a little bit of acne fighting ingredients in it and it brightens the skin as well. It's supposed to correct and clarify. It's got 10% AHC acid and 1% salicylic acid so it really just helps with any sort of acne issues and brightens the skin which I love."
