  • Reapplies easily over makeup without disrupting it

What they flagged

  • Dispenser makes it hard to get product out

What the gurus are saying

This powder sunscreen's real strength is it lets you reapply SPF over makeup throughout the day without disrupting your look. Made with minerals, zinc oxide 22.5%, titanium dioxide 12.5%, it comes in multiple shades with the fair shade acting translucent, and reviewers praise how it mattifies shine. However, the dispenser needs tapping and priming to work well, and at SPF 30 it's a boost over existing sunscreen, not a primary application.

"Another sunscreen I picked up this year and I'm absolutely loving is the one by Dermatology. This is their sunscreen powder. And I just use this kind of like I would a beauty blender to reapply a very light layer throughout the day or to cut down the shine on some of my sunscreens that are a little bit too glowy."

DRMTLGY Skincare: Best Anti-Aging Skincare for Mature Skin Over 50 (Black Friday Deals!)
"This is their powdered sunscreen. I do like a powdered sunscreen on occasion to put on throughout the day if I just want to tamp down some of that glow that my sunscreen is giving me or if I just want to top up just a little bit. It's not going to do the job that a sunscreen needs to do. But the problem with this is the dispenser. You just cannot get the sunscreen to come out. Like even they have the on off. I end up having to open it up and dip it in. And it is only SPF 30. So there's no way you're going to get enough coverage with this. I usually just use a product like this to knock down some of the shine if my sunscreen is a little bit too glowy."

"I do love a powdered sunscreen. This is just a sprinkle of sunscreen. It will help cut down the glow on your sunscreen and add a little protection if you tap it on. I'm actually using it to double cover my scars, and I just find that it gives a little bit of extra oomph to my sunscreen. After I apply my sunscreen, I put this on, gives a little more staying power, can tamp down some of the glow of a sunscreen."

The Secret is Out! I GOT A FACELIFT!
"This is the powdered sunscreen by Dermatology and it just gives a little added cover up and some staying power to the scar area. I don't want any sun on my scars because I don't want them to hyperpigment, so sunscreen is really really important when your scars are healing. I've been keeping these in my purse to apply throughout the day."

"The last product is the SPF radiance powder. This is a broadspectrum SPF 30 powder sunscreen. This is all mineral, by the way. So, it has a zinc oxide of 22.5% and a titanium dioxide of 12.5%. There are a few shades to pick from, but I generally use shade fair the most because this acts as a translucent shade for me personally and it doesn't pack on more color when I'm applying it over and over throughout the day. So, in the dead of summer, when I'm at my darkest or I'm self-tanning, I will wear shade medium. But when I am at my fairest or I'm starting to lose my tan, then I will always use shade fair because when you reapply it throughout the day, like I said, it can pack on more color and then you see the difference in color from your neck. So, if you're not putting this on your neck, you might see the difference in shades. Just so you know, at least from my experience anyways. So to play it safe, I use shade fair. And this is a good way to reapply your sunscreen on top of a full face of makeup. Or if you're wearing tinted sunscreen and you have a little bit of blush and bronzer on your skin, then instead of reapplying your tinted sunscreen where you're going to ruin everything, then just use a powder SPF."

"I really like this because sometimes aerosol sunscreens can be too wet and saturated and might make your makeup look distorted, like it might melt it and make it look funny. But with something like this, it's like putting powder on your skin like you normally would to maybe mattify your skin throughout the day. This is basically the same thing with that SPF 30. It's all mineral with zinc and titanium dioxide at 22.5 and 5%, and it comes in four shades. The Dermatology one is a little bit deeper than other options. If I use it a few times, I do notice that my skin might appear a little bit darker. So depending on your skin tone, you have three options with Dermatology."

"This is the Dermatology SPF 30 Radiance Powder, which is broadspectrum. It does have a zinc oxide of 22.5% and a titanium dioxide of 12.5%. This comes in three shades. I have shade fair right here, but I also will occasionally use shade medium as well. But the fair is my go-to because it acts as that translucent shade for me personally. And as I'm reapplying this throughout the day for that added sun protection, it's not packing on any more color like the medium shade would. If I kept applying medium on top of my skin every so many hours, my skin would just get darker and darker and then it's going to look different from my neck and it's just going to look too much. So, I really like the shade fair the most."
I'VE FOUND THE TOP-RATED SUNSCREENS FOR 2024 | I'VE TESTED THEM ALL AND THESE ARE TRULY THE BEST!
"This is what I like to use to reapply my sunscreen throughout the day, especially if I'm wearing makeup or a tinted sunscreen and I have makeup on top of it, because it's really hard to apply your liquid sunscreen on top of makeup. Powder SPFs are a great way to reapply and it does help to mattify the skin a little bit as well, so if you do get quite shiny during the day. This is like using a translucent powder, but of course we're getting that added sun protection of SPF 30. This is all minerals, so it has titanium dioxide of 12.5% and zinc oxide of 22.5%. When you first get it, you want to tip it upside down and bang the bottom several times, then rub your finger through the bristles, and when you start to see the powder flying in the air, then you know it's primed and ready to go. Then you can just go in circular motions all over your face down your neck and reapply throughout the day."
