What the gurus are saying

The gurus praise this gel for its gentle yet effective approach to acne-prone skin and hyperpigmentation, with the combination of chemical exfoliants and bakuchiol working together to calm redness, unclog pores, and brighten over time. The light gel texture makes it easy to fit into morning or evening routines, and the amount of actives is balanced enough that most skin types can tolerate it, though those new to these ingredients may want to patch-test first or start a few times a week. One standout note: when used as a spot treatment on concentrated redness, some found the calming effect visible within a day.

"The Dr. Sam's Flawless Neutralizing Gel, which I think is $28. This one's just a gel with azelaic acid, salicylic acid as well, and then bakuchiol. So, this one I think would be great for acne-prone skin. It's got a wonderful gel texture. It sets to a matte finish. And bakuchiol's great for anti-aging purposes."

"I love this stuff. It's got azelaic acid which is the star of the show, and then it's got squalene, salicylic acid, and bakuchiol. This stuff's got a nice light gel texture you can add it to your routine really easily. You can use it morning or evening. The amount of salicylic acid in here is enough to help a little bit with some minor exfoliation but not be too strong. You can fit it into either routine. I typically use this in my evening routine. I think it really works well for acne prone skin and for hyperpigmentation. I like that they threw in the bakuchiol because it's wonderful."

"My favorite product stand out is her flawless neutralizing gel, which is 41 bucks. It's formulated with salicylic acid and bakuchiol, helps reduce redness, dark spots, and minimize the potential of future breakouts. It's really nice, a really nicely formulated product. I like a pump bottle. It's one of my favorites to keep in the shower if it's got a pump on it."
Dr Sam's Flawless Neutralizing Gel with Azelaic Acid and Salicylic Acid Review, How to, and Dupes
"I love the combination of azelaic acid and salicylic acid. It's not exactly new because there's several products now that use the combination of both of them, but I like it being a two-for-one product. For people that are able to find benefits from a small amount of azelaic acid and BHA it's great. It certainly helps with clogged pores, also helps calm skin down a bit. I also found this helps brighten my skin up. For acne-prone skin there's only two ingredients of note: squalene and glycerol stearate, so it's pretty friendly for all skin types, dry, oily, sensitive, and acne-prone. And I love the two-for-one."

"Dr Sam's Flawless Neutralizing Gel is a very simple lactic acid product. The ingredients in here are basically lactic acid, squalane, a little bit of salicylic acid, and a little bit of cucumber. It's really gentle but very good for brightening or for breakout prone skin. I recommend trying this if you've tried a lot of other things that haven't worked for acne prone skin. Lactic acid and salicylic acid is a really good way to go aside from benzoyl peroxide, which can be super drying, but for a lot of people it works great, but for others, lactic acid, that's the winner."

"It's formulated with AIC acid, salicylic acid, and it helps reduce redness, the appearance of spots, the size of spots too, and prevent future breakouts. I've used this and I really really like this. It was originally purchased with my own money. I used it on a really aggressive spot and it was great. This is a hydrating, fragrance-free, vegan, cruelty-free gel direct spot treatment. It has AIC acid in it to help with redness and congestion, and salicylic acid to unclog pores and help with congestion. You apply this onto dry skin and then apply stuff over the top of it. You use the tiniest amount, like half a pea size amount for a spot. I applied this on a really red, aggressive spot and the next day the redness was completely gone. There was a tiny little bump but you couldn't notice it compared to what it was the day before. The spot looked like it was ready to pop and really hurt. This calmed everything down."
