What the gurus are saying

The standout here is how hydrating it is for a cleanser, thanks to its 50% glycerin content, and gurus consistently praise how it removes makeup thoroughly without drying or leaving residue. The soothing ingredients (aloe, oat extract, arginine) support the barrier, and the affordable, well-formulated base means it works just as well as pricier options. One tester found it effective but wished it sparked more joy, though the consensus is it earns its place as both a first and second cleanser, and the refill system is genuinely done well.

"Funnily enough, I didn't love the Dr. Sam's Flawless Cleanser at first, my friend gave me a bottle, but oh my gosh, I do now, and it has become my travel staple. It is the perfect double cleanser, it takes off every little bit of makeup and sunscreen, and it's gentle enough for the second cleanse as well, which I always do just to be sure."

"This is just one of the nicest most hydrating cleansers I've ever used and I don't usually team the term hydrating with a cleanser but when there's 50% glycerin in a cleanser it's obviously going to be hydrating. It's such nice texture. There's aloe, there's oat extract, arginine as well so all soothing and helping to support the skin barrier. You get your money's worth with this cleanser."

"I love Dr. Sam's cleanser for me because it just takes off my makeup. It cleanses. It doesn't strip. It's so gentle. It never irritates."

"I had this one in my stash for a few months before I finally gave it a try and I really came to enjoy this one. It's very nice, it's a great second step or morning cleanser. Light lather, rinses clean but not squeaky clean. It's very gentle. It's got a short ingredient list with aloe, vitamin E, BHT preservative. I really focus on very affordable cleansers because they spend the least amount of time on your skin. A good, well-formulated affordable cleanser is going to be just as good as a really expensive one. As long as the cleansing agents are gentle and the formula is well-formulated, it goes down the drain. But if you have something that's really harsh, you will notice it. So spending money on a good one that's affordable but gentle is the way to go in my opinion."

"The Flawless Cleanser is great. Um, the dark spots also really wonderful. So, if you haven't checked any of those out, it's certainly worth checking out. Um, yeah. So, I like a pump bottle. It's one of my favorites to keep in the shower if it's got a pump on it."
Dr Sam's Flawless Neutralizing Gel with Azelaic Acid and Salicylic Acid Review, How to, and Dupes
"They say it's your first line of attack against breakouts, blackheads, and dark marks. It helps reduce redness, spot size, and minimizes future breakouts, and it's actively hydrating so it supports your skin barrier. It won't flake or peel so it works seamlessly under makeup. I agree with most of that. I wouldn't use it under makeup if you can help it; I'd more use it in your evening routine because of some of the ingredients. In terms of drying types of alcohol, it does not contain any of those. In terms of fragrance, there's no fragrance ingredients. It has almost like a little bit of a licorice scent when you apply it and then it dissipates. It comes in a squeeze tube, no issues with that, and it's easy to travel with, which is nice. It's kind of a two for one product."

"I've always been a fan of this, the Dr Sam's Flawless Cleanser. The cap on this is so good that you can just dispense a small amount out. If you don't mind having something bulky on your vanity, you really don't actually need the refill container; you can just use this as your cleanser. It is so much cheaper and it allows you to disperse the right amount."

"Dr Sam's cleanser is amazing. If you're the sort of person that wants genuine refillable products, look at the Dr Sam's refill on their cleanser. It comes in this humongous pouch of like 500 mil of cleanser and you can decant it into your other cleanser. That's how you do refills. Their cleanser is amazing."

ULTIMATE SKINCARE FAVOURITES - Skincare I Have Bought The Most
"The Dr Sam Flawless Cleanser is just a great cleanser. It doesn't promise anything magical, it doesn't have any hidden secret ingredients in it, it's just an effective cleanser. It gets everything off the skin, gets it prepped for the rest of your skincare routine. The reason I love this is they do refills and they do refills right. You get a ton of product, it's a lot cheaper, and there's a lot less packaging in this than the original. You could just buy the refill, but what I do is I constantly refill this from the bag and it works out a lot cheaper and it's much more environmentally friendly. This is refills done right."

"The Dr. Sam's Flawless Cleanser, which I like, but don't love. This is a very good plain cleanser. You can use it to remove makeup. You can use it in the mornings. It leaves the skin feeling calm and hydrated. It's just there's no fun in using it. It's a very good cleanser, but it doesn't spark joy, which I know is a luxury problem."

"The Dr. Sam's Flawless Cleanser also worked very well for him: no perfume-y fragrance, skin clean, but not feeling tight, just a foam up, rub in and rinse situation that could be done in seconds. It was chosen as his single nightly cleanse, no double cleansing or fancy balms or oils needed."
