"Dr. Pen is definitely the way to go if you want a real clinical experience at home and have the time and the tolerance for it. But for me, the pain and the time were the deciding factors that stopped me from using it regularly. And that's a shame because I actually have a few Dr. Pens lying around not being used."

"They're really quality products. These guys are the gold standard. In fact, they're used in many clinics. One of the best things about this is that these cartridges are disposable. You use it and you throw it away because when you're doing medical micro needling you're creating open channels in your skin which are hugely vulnerable to germs. So sterilization is absolutely critical. You don't want to reuse contaminated tools. But the reason I moved away from Dr Pen is simply time. The head on this cartridge is freaking tiny. So when I'm doing micro needling I am stamping my skin like this instead of doing the circular motion. However it takes me forever to do my face my neck and my chest because each area has to be hit three times. This can take me an hour sometimes even more. And I'm not going to lie it's also pretty seriously uncomfortable."

My skin seemed way more irritated and it took me longer to heal, even though I was using the same 0.5 needle length, maybe I was just going too deep.
