What the gurus are saying

Gurus are largely enthusiastic about this cream's nourishing formula and soothing ingredients, particularly praising how it absorbs and replenishes dry skin. The main friction point is texture and compatibility: some find it genuinely too heavy or silicone-rich, causing pilling with sunscreen or a smothered feeling, while others love its thick consistency for intensive overnight use. The herbal fragrance divides reviewers; a few appreciate the scent, but others eventually moved on because of it.

"Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin cream. If it's like before bed or in the evening and I really want to amp it up, I'll go to like the barrier cream or something like that. I'm not going to use the barrier cream under all my makeup."

"But some retinoids though, Darnell, like the Dr. Aaji one, you're not supposed to put anything over it."

A Decade Worth of Holy Grail Moisturizers & Face Creams - My Favorites Over the Past 10 Years
"The Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream was really thick and has fragrance in it, bergamot oil or some herbal oils. I didn't find the scent to be overwhelming but I really liked the thick texture of it because my skin was super dry. If you're looking for an all-in-one product, this was thick enough to do the trick for a long time. It was good, but it has a lot of fragrance in it so I kind of eventually evolved away from it."

"I tried a little sample of Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream. This has a lot of dimethicone and it doesn't sit well with some of the sunscreens that I use. I found that it caused a lot of pilling. So I tried it as a night cream and I just don't like the texture. My skin kind of feels smothered when I use this, so this is going to be a pass for me."

"The moisturizing layer is incredibly nourishing, very creamy and silky. My skin is just sucking this up, it feels amazing. Because I've used this for quite a while, I can tell you that there's some tea in here and I find my skin super responds to tea in skincare. I always get natural redness, especially in this cold weather, and tea really helps with that quite a bit. I feel like it just brings a really healthy complexion. It's an antioxidant and there's some great polyphenol content in here. The moisture element is so silky."

"It just absorbs and absorbs and absorbs and my skin can just drink it up, but it's very replenishing. I also really appreciate the larger size of this because I do a couple of layers so I run through products a lot faster, but with this bigger size I don't feel like I'm running through toner every single month. This lasts me a really, really good long time."
