    What the gurus are saying

This two-step system resurfaces lips with an exfoliating peel, then locks in with a barrier-restoring balm rather than a traditional balm. Reviewers report the smoothest lips they've ever had in winter, with no cracking or chapping even in harsh conditions. Using the peel at night and sealing with the balm throughout the day creates a compounding effect that gradually strengthens the lip barrier.

"I apply this all over my lips and I let it dry. Then, I follow up with the barrier-based. Now, this is a rich conditioning balm that actually supports the lip barrier rather than just sitting on top. So, we resurface and then we replenish. I thought this would be another over complicated lip thing. I was wrong. It solves the problem instead of just masking it."

"This is not a typical lip balm. It's a lip treatment with step one being the lip peel that is going to remove the dry, dead skin cells on your lips. If you're somebody who basically was me who said, 'No matter what I've used, it never helped to smooth my lips. I was still always flaky and chapped,' the lip peel is going to help to smoothen your lips and get rid of the flaking and the peeling and the rough texture of your lips. But you do not want to just leave that exposed. You want to lock it in while calming and soothing and protecting your lips. This lip balm offers that long-lasting hydration with soothing benefits as well. I use this at night followed by this, and I use this throughout the day. This winter, it is December, it has been arctic in New York City, I have yet to experience a cracked or chapped or bloody lip, which in my world for the past 40 years has been a never, okay, until the past year and a half to two years. So very, very excited for that."

"I will tell you this is the smoothest my lips have ever been in the winter and I have been using this pretty much religiously since November. Over time there is a compounding effect in terms of how smooth your lips are going to get when you use the peel and the base. The reason I use the base is because it's not a traditional lip balm, it is helping to restore the barrier health of my lips, really helping it to heal the best it can heal. I'm launching it as a Duo because I want you guys to experience this as a lip treatment, really not only smoothing your lips but also soothing them and protecting them long term."

"For pest resistance we focus on the lips, your lips need skin care too, and this is why I created the barrier-based duo system. So I do a light lip peel to my lips allowing that to sit into my lips and get absorbed, and then I lock it in with the base. I'll do this at night and I will do this throughout the day, but I won't do the peel throughout the day. So then I apply the lip base and this is like pure, honestly soothing, calming butter for your lips and it just allows your lips to heal and restore overnight for perfection."
