"Dr. Idriss Major Fade Flash Mask, let me tell you I did not want to like this product. The ingredients is what really drew me in. I was like this is for sure made by a dermatologist because they're really focusing in on some really key brightening active ingredients: glycolic acid, lactic acid, and tranexamic acid. Glycolic and lactic are AHAs so they work on the top surface of your skin to really resurface your skin in a way right. They exfoliate the dead skin cells on top so they smooth out your skin but they also work to brighten the skin. They can work on hyperpigmentation. Lactic acid is actually really good for your skin barrier. It can increase skin hydration over time. Tranexamic acid is not an exfoliating acid but it is a brightening ingredient and it can work on stubborn hyperpigmentation, sunspots, melasma."

"I really do credit this product as the product that made me fall in love slowly but surely with AHAs, particularly with glycolic acid, because that's really the cornerstone of this wash off mask. It's 15% of glycolic acid, and that is quite a good amount of glycolic acid. Glycolic acid is actually a fairly small molecule that is part of the AHA family and that actually means that this molecule gets into the skin, penetrates deeper and it penetrates into the skin faster making it work really effectively for the skin and that means that it actually exfoliates your skin very very quickly."

"This is an occasional use mask, so you can get that exfoliating effect without necessarily having to build it into the rest of your skincare routine. This mask actually really helped me to love AHA. It uses 15% glycolic acid, which is a lot of AHA. Glycolic acid helps to chemically exfoliate the top surface of the skin, shed away dead skin cells, and help with skin tone and texture. With long-term and consistent use, it can actually help with collagen production in the skin, help to thicken up the skin, make it more firm, more youthful, more supple, and just rejuvenate the skin. And we also have 3% lactic acid, which not only does the chemical exfoliating process, but it also helps your skin retain hydration as well. This is a very potent mask. I would categorize this like an AHA peel, like an at-home peel type of product. The way that I like to use this is once a week. And this has actually made it into my weekly rotation of skincare. I use this once a week, and I have for going on two years now."

"This is a potent AHA mask but unlike The Ordinary 30% AHA mask, I feel like this has been formulated in a really smart way that kind of helps to sidestep some of the irritation. It's a more sophisticated formula instead of just throwing a bunch of AHA at your face, a bunch of glycolic acid. This is matching up the glycolic acid with the lactic acid and then adding in tranexamic acid, which is a brightening ingredient and not an exfoliating acid, so it really does amp up the benefits of helping to target dark spots on the face and really helping to target brightening up the complexion along with helping with texture and smoothness of the skin. I've seen some really good benefits using this. It really does brighten up hyperpigmentation, so the dark marks that you get after inflammation on your skin. If you suffer with melasma, if you suffer with sun damage, I would really look at this product if you can afford it. I think that it is a little gentler on the skin but I think it's just as potent."

Not only does it help to brighten your skin, but the ingredients will help with hyperpigmentation from acne but they will also help for melasma sun damage and uneven or dull looking skin tone. It will really help with a lot of different concerns. Because it does contain 15% glycolic acid it exfoliates at the top surface of your skin which actually makes your skin a lot more smooth and a lot more radiant. Your makeup's going to apply a little bit better when you do some AHA. So it helps with textural irregularities and help to bring out that inner glow even if you have hyperpigmentation on your skin. It's called a little bit on the pricey side but you do get two cartridges with this, which helps to keep the formula really fresh and efficacious for your skin instead of doing a jumbo size container."

"I've been obsessed with the Dr Idris Major Fade Flash Mask for about a year now. It uses 15% glycolic acid, which is probably the most potent AHA acid out there and shows really good results on the skin. They bump up the AHA by including an additional 3% lactic acid, which is also an AHA but generally considered more gentle and better tolerated by sensitive skin folks, while still showing very good results. The mask also contains tranexamic acid, which is a brightening active that's great for helping to address hyperpigmentation and unevenness on the skin. So you're getting AHA exfoliation working really hard for your skin, but then an additional dose of brightening on top of that. I've been incorporating this mask into my weekly skincare routine for about a year now and I absolutely love the results. I do have sensitive skin that can get quite dry and sensitive in the winter, and I've had no issues with it."

"This mask is from Dr. Idriss, it's the Major Fade Flash Mask and I absolutely love this because it's 15% glycolic acid and 3% lactic acid, so two very good AHA chemical exfoliants, and then there's also some tranexamic acid in this mask too which is a great brightening ingredient that targets pigmentation on the skin. I use the AHA once a week. I do have fairly sensitive skin and I have found that using high percentage AHA has given me problems in the past, so I'm just very cautious with this mask, but quite honestly my skin tolerates this super well at one time a week and I'm getting really good results with it. I don't feel like I have to blast my skin with it more times a week. This helps with skin cell turnover and that's such an important component to even-toned complexion. When you're consistent with your products you will start to see that type of result. Your skin's not going to look as dull and as uneven, especially with AHA. It's the perfect exfoliant for that."

"The AHA is really kind of helping to just kind of keep things under control. I've definitely noticed smoother skin, softer skin, brighter skin. It just really brings a clarity to the skin that was just like that kind of missing thing, you know, that thing I was yearning for and didn't know how to quite get it, and I feel like this mask has given that to me. But it also helps to address hyperpigmentation, uneven skin darkness on the skin. It is an exfoliating mask that does also hydrate at the same time. In the summertime, I maybe use it two times a week. In the winter time, I'll go up to four times a week. And sometimes when I'm really really lazy, I'll just put it on followed by the serum and the moisturizer and we just go to sleep because I can tolerate it and it gives you baby smooth skin the next day. So, if you're sensitive here, don't go close to your eyes. "This is an exfoliating mask that is loaded in glycolic acid at 15% and lactic acid. So you're going to exfoliate your skin. You're going to have a smoother surface. You can sleep with it overnight if you're not sensitive, but just approach cautiously if you've not used it. And I would patch test it first. You should not be exfoliating every single night of the week. When it's a mask format, there's a barrier to entry, so you don't want to do it as often and therefore you want to exfoliate probably two to four times a week at most. The thing about a mask that is really unique and nice is that you can put it to any area of your face or body that you want to have it sit on for a few minutes and then wash it off. "I like to marry it to lactic acid because lactic acid can help minimize discoloration, and then we also in this particular product married it to tranexamic acid, which is not an exfoliating acid. If you have melasma you just want to throw everything at it, so combining it with an exfoliating acid allows it to work a little bit more efficiently, and that is why we mixed all three in the Dr Idris Major Fade Flash Mask. The beauty of a gel is you can pick how long you keep it on your face and where you apply it. So for me I always apply it on the high points of my face, I don't go too close into my orbital rim because it gets a little bit more sensitive there, and the skin underneath the eyes is more sensitive. I come on my forehead because you want to make sure that you are getting any sort of sunspots, and then down my nose lightly, lightly, lightly. I don't come in here or in here because that is going to get irritated. Few nights a week I'll put this on for 20 to 30 minutes. One night a week I'll even sleep with it and wash it off the next day. It is spicy for everyone who applies it and then it settles down. My skin feels nice, it feels smooth. It always gets a little bit red after I wash it off."
