What the gurus are saying

The experts found this moisturizer pairs vitamin C with hydration in one step, which means people can skip a separate vitamin C serum and still apply it twice daily, even layered with retinol at night without irritation. The gel texture is silky and lightweight enough for most skin types. One reviewer appreciated the formula but held off repurchasing only because she already had open products in those categories, suggesting this works best for those building a routine from scratch rather than adding to existing serums or moisturizers.

"The Dr. Idris Major Fade Active Seal surprised me. I really liked the texture and the efficiency. It's a moisturizer and a vitamin C in one step, and that makes such good sense. It felt elegant and was obviously easy. I will definitely buy this again. I'm just not buying it immediately because I have other moisturizers and I have other vitamin C products open and I don't want to duplicate the categories. This is more of a delayed, not a dismissed."

"This is not just a vitamin C moisturizer. It is a vitamin C moisturizer with glutathione to really help to fortify the vitamin C aspect of this moisturizer. It has tetrahexyldecorbate which is the quiet form of vitamin C. So you can use this twice a day and you can use it with a retinol at night and that is going to boost the effects of the retinol without making it irritating for you. Additionally, there are other actives in this moisturizer. It also has an ingredient known as forbutal resourcenol which rivals hydroquinone in the studies that were presented to us by the raw ingredient suppliers. And so that means it is going to help to brighten your skin as well. Additionally, I threw in some peptides as well as ceramides to help to strengthen your skin barrier health. This one retails for $58."

"Dr Idris Major Fade Active Seal is my favorite because it has Tetra hexal desis corate which is not the active form of vitamin C and it comes in a gel moisturizer so you can use this twice a day in the morning and you can use it at night with a retinol and not be afraid of irritating your skin. I get 24 hours of vitamin C on my skin in the morning and at night to help with the look of any sort of brown spots discoloration hyperpigmentation. It is glycerin based and there's no hyaluronic acid in the moisturizer because you don't need it, you're going to get it through other products."

"If you're looking for a moisturizer that has actives that also moisturizes, this is where I like to incorporate vitamin C in it because you get the two in one. It minimizes the step of having to invest in a simple vitamin C serum but you can also use a vitamin C while hydrating your skin in the process. The Dr Idris Major Fade Active Seal has a vitamin C ester in it plus peptides and ceramides to lock in hydration and the weight of this moisturizer is relatively lightweight so that it can fit most skin types but it is extremely silky and smooth on application on the skin."
