What the gurus are saying

This glass file earns praise for smoothing nails quickly without damaging the nail plate. However, experts split on value: while one dermatologist recommends it for its gentleness, another notes you can find similar files at drugstore prices elsewhere, so the premium positioning may not justify the cost for everyone.

"For nail files I actually really like glass nail files. I find that they're higher quality and get the job done more effectively without introducing micro tears into your nail plate. One I really recommend is from Dr Dana, their glass nail file. That is really easy to use and it really helps me to smooth down my nails very quickly without introducing additional trauma to the nail."
✓Mixed
"It's a decent nail file, but you can get something like this at Sally Beauty Supply for significantly less, or really anywhere that sells nail care supplies like Target or Walmart. It isn't necessarily unique or magical. Keep in mind, using something like this, buffing the nails, can actually be somewhat disruptive to healthy nail growth in the long run because it's kind of traumatic to the nail itself. Buffing is one of those aggressive manicure practices that can backfire in the long run."
