What the gurus are saying

This cream earns praise for calming sensitive skin without feeling heavy, making it work for both dry and oily combination types. Those with dry skin find it genuinely hydrating, while people with sensitive skin appreciate that it soothes without the weight of a thick moisturizer. A solid pick if you want relief for reactive skin.

"This is beautifully formulated. It is still in the cream moisturizer form. It is thicker than the other creams that Dr. Althea has, but it is still very easy. Glides on your skin beautifully. Gives you a really nice glow. Fast absorb. It is absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend this cream if you are someone who has dry skin. Even if you have acne prone skin, basically anyone and everyone with dry skin can use this product."

"Dr. Althea 147 Intensive Soothing Cream is lighter weight but still has all the ingredients to help function like a barrier cream, more ideal for oily skin. If you have oily, combination skin and sensitive skin and want something that will help to soothe and calm your skin but not super heavy, this is the one to go. It is light, but still hydrating and moisturizing enough where you're not going to feel like your skin is dry and tight afterwards. It's great for those with oily, combination skin wanting to use this as a daily moisturizer or intermittently as your barrier cream. It's fragrance free and has almost like a cooling effect on my skin with just the texture of it. You can use it as your moisturizer to help combat redness or irritation after your retinoids or after exfoliation. It's got wonderful plant-derived ingredients that help to calm the skin. Seven different types of hyaluronic acid, four different types of ceramides, Artemisia which is mugwort, other plant-derived extracts that are really common in Korean skincare. This is a Korean brand by the way, which I love. These really help to calm and soothe irritated skin. So not only are you getting the important ingredients that help to rebuild your barrier, but also additional plant-derived extracts that calm and soothe. I love the lightweight texture. I often will use this as my moisturizer when I travel."
