"Dove has come out with an Advanced Care line targeting men, and this one is an acne clear body wash that can be used on the face and the body. Personally, I'm rather fond of that type of marketing because a lot of people deal with breakouts on their face and their body, and using salicylic acid to target those breakouts in a wash is a great way to utilize the ingredient in a short contact approach, derive the benefits, and minimize dryness and irritation. It's interesting though that it is a one percent salicylic acid strength. Usually in body washes it's two percent. The other thing that salicylic acid besides acne can be beneficial for is cutting down on recurrences of tinea versicolor. Salicylic acid helps with skin cell turnover, so it certainly can help with that. But the other condition that people don't think about or maybe even realize that they're coping with is seborrheic dermatitis. You think of seborrheic dermatitis as a facial issue, but it can happen on pretty much any body site. If you have a deeper skin tone, seborrheic dermatitis can heal with hypopigmentation like a white spot, and it can take a while to repigment, so salicylic acid can really help with that."

"Dove came out with an acne clear salicylic acid body wash. This is a good option if you have acne, it's a salicylic acid body wash, and it doesn't have that irritating preservative. This is also great if you get seborrheic dermatitis on the body."

"Dove came out with a boatload of body washes with salient ingredients. They have an acne one with one percent salicylic acid. There is evidence that salicylic acid washes do help with acne, but like a peptide serum body wash, I think that's a stretch. Be careful of the marketing there. Peptides can get into the skin, but a peptide serum body wash just seems like a lot of marketing to me."
