What the gurus are saying

The spray format makes it easy to coat the scalp and hard-to-reach spots like the back and chest without needing help, and gurus praise how well it diffuses across those areas compared to creams or lotions. One caution: experts suggest avoiding spraying it directly in the face, since breathing in the mist is not ideal. The product is fragrance-free and gurus expect it to deliver the acne-fighting results you'd get from a salicylic acid treatment.

"For example, the brand Differin makes a salicylic acid body spray that's quite good. There are many others on the market. That just comes to mind as one I have tested out myself and can vouch for."

"Differin now has a salicylic acid body spray and it's actually really good. I've been using it off and on, like on my chest and my back, because sometimes I get acne breakouts there from workouts, just sweat rubbing there underneath the sports bra. Salicylic acid to these areas is also really good if you have tinea versicolor or seborrheic dermatitis. I really like this, although make sure you use it in a well ventilated area so you're not inhaling salicylic acid."

"I'm pretty excited about this Differin acne body spray, a salicylic acid body spray, just because a leave-on salicylic acid for the back or the chest, you don't really find that, and the spray is nice for reaching the back. Plus this has glycolic acid in it, which will also help exfoliate the skin and help hasten the clearance of hyperpigmentation."

"Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid that I like on the back as well, it can help get down into the pores and decongest them. It comes in sprays, which is really convenient if you can't shower right away since it's hard to reach the back. Differin makes a spray you can just hold and spray on your back to help kill some of the bacteria, get down into the pores a bit, and remove some of the oil and sweat and dirt that accumulates."

"If you are somebody who goes to the gym and you get really sweaty at the gym, one thing you should all be purchasing is Differin 2% Salicylic Acid Body Spray. This is an exfoliating acid body spray, so if you can't shower right away, put it on the sweaty areas to help make sure that the skin is not getting clogged in that area leading to worsening breakouts. But if you do shower, you can still use it after the shower before you moisturize to make sure that your skin is being appropriately exfoliated."

"If you're going to go for a salicylic acid spray for your scalp, look at the beautiful time on this spray, that is a beautiful spray mixture. So you could spray this throughout your scalp and even on certain body parts like if you break out and you're oily on your back or your chest, and it's always easier than having to get somebody to apply something to your back or your chest. You can apply it throughout your scalp and massage it into your scalp, and this way you don't necessarily need a brush because when you're spraying something there's better diffusion than versus applying it to different sections of your scalp."

"Differin is one that I've used and it's fine. This is a great reminder that you can use anything for your face on your body because your body skin is more resistant than your face skin in general, so pretty much anything you've done from all the previous products just move it down. You can also use the salicylic acid sprays for those hard to hit areas."
