What the gurus are saying

The gentle exfoliation earns strong praise for removing flakes and dead skin without exacerbating dryness, making it especially valuable for those managing eczema or dealing with persistent flakiness and sensitivity. Reviewers split on longevity and value: some found the hydrating benefits rinse away too quickly to justify the high price point, while others found it genuinely transforms flaky, compromised skin.

"It was a fragrance-free product, just a mask you put on and rinse off but had these little beads that would break and give you a little bit of gentle exfoliation to it. For the price it's probably not worth repurchasing. I don't think I would repurchase it. Sometimes just a nice mask once in a while is fine to change it up. I did like the packaging though, it was pretty, just push this down and then it would just dispense it."

"The Dermalogica Hydro Mask Exfoliant, the benefits of this pretty much get rinsed off the second you rinse it off, so it's just kind of sad, and it's really expensive."

The Best Peels & Masks for Soft Smooth Skin - Exfoliating & Hydrating Facial Masks
"It's got turmeric, cucumber, eggplant, several different ferments and licorice, so it feels really nice and hydrating. You just leave it on your skin for 3 to 5 minutes. This one's a little bit pricey, it's a little bit bigger at 1.7 oz, and it's nice. I've repurchased it once, so that says something."

"The Hydro Exfoliant Mask makes me feel like one of those kids in a McDonald's play pen but like as an adult who spent seventy dollars on skincare, I love this. It has bamboo beads and bursting spheres with a nice hydrating formula, and it's so good if you have dry skin and need exfoliation because a lot of exfoliating products are more dehydrating to the skin and can actually make dry skin worse. This exfoliates while it hydrates, and it has these little bubbles that pop with bamboo particles that gently exfoliate the skin."

Your Guide to the Sephora Sale For Each Skin Concern: Acne, Sensitivity, Anti Aging
"This is the Hydro Mask Exfoliant, a hydrating face mask that also has exfoliating bamboo beads. The dispenser is one of the coolest ones ever. This literally has balls inside of it with little tiny specules of bamboo that kind of explode and burst on the skin to help break down the flakes and remove them from the face without exasperating any of the dryness or issues. For people who have eczema that can handle it, this is so good. This isn't going to cure eczema because it's a chronic condition, but for eczema, for flaky faces, this is so good. Or even if you're just having a dry day or you overdid it, this is a great way to remove the flakes without causing more dryness in the long run. I love just popping the little beads; they're so fun. Look at that—exfoliated but hydrated."
