What the gurus are saying

The shaped, soft silicone design with an under-chin panel sets this mask apart from flat competitors, and gurus consistently praise its comfort and comprehensive coverage. The 236 LEDs deliver red (630 nm), near infrared (830 nm), and deep near infrared (1072 nm) light, three wavelengths clinically shown to reduce wrinkles, boost collagen, and improve skin firmness at different depths. The one thing that matters most is consistency; gurus who saw visible results used it daily or every other day, and those expecting change should commit to regular use to notice a difference.

"I replaced the Series 1 with the CurrentBody Skin LED Face Mask Series 2, which has the same specs but a few improvements that make me prefer it. I've been using it consistently for years—probably the one I've used the most—at around five nights a week for about 10 minutes. It's so easy, nothing beats the feeling of putting it on and just dropping down on the couch, and if I had to buy just one skincare device, the first one I'd get is another LED mask."

CurrentBody LED Neck Mask Review: 8 Weeks of Results on Mature Skin | Doctor Anne
"A downside of the Series 2 face mask seems to be the need to be charged more frequently. People commented on that when I reviewed it, and after using it for more than a year now I agree that while the Series 1 still lasts two weeks without charging, pushing on three, my Series 2 one now needs to be charged weekly."
3 years of skincare devices: LED, microcurrent and radiofrequency - what I still use | Doctor Anne
"As good as the old one, but with a few improvements, so the Series 2 is the one I am reaching for regularly now. In the evenings I use it, which takes 10 minutes and can be done right after removing your makeup and cleansing the skin, a great way to unwind before bed. I aim for five nights a week. Looking at comfort, ease of use and relaxation, the Currentbody LED Light Therapy Face Mask Series 2 is still the one. Feeling like you take care of your skin by laying back on the couch for ten minutes is unbeatable."
Currentbody LED Mask Series 2 Review: Do You Really Need the Upgrade? | Doctor Anne
"Very helpful when you sit upright is the new multi-way strap. Instead of having just one that fits behind the back, there's an additional one that you can adjust yourself to go over the head, which is great for keeping the mask in place and for ensuring a snug fit around the jawline. [...] Two of the changes address the minor complaints I had with series 1, the coverage of the chin area and the strap to go on top of the head. [...] So, for me, the CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask Series 2 is the better one out of the two. Would I have bought a new series 2 if I still had a fully functioning series 1 at home, which I've had 3 years and still going strong? Probably not, as it is quite an investment, and the difference in results to expect is minimal. But if I was looking for a mask to buy and had to decide between these two, I would go for the newer model. But no matter which one you choose and use, be patient. Seeing the subtle results it might give you will take time. If you're hoping for overnight miracles, LED therapy in general might disappoint you. [...] It's the consistency over weeks and months that makes the difference, not a single session."

"Next step is 10 minutes of LED using the CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Mask Series 2. [...] The face mask is a firm favourite of mine."
What's new for October? Skincare Stash Update with Doctor Anne feat. Currentbody and Geek & Gorgeous
"They just came out with their CurrentBody LED Face Mask Series 2, which they claim has improved due to customer feedback. The first thing I noticed is that now it has a strap that goes underneath the chin, which is something that I really appreciate, because this is one of my main areas of concern where I want to firm and lift the skin, and all the other face masks I had with their shape ending there and their tendency to lift up never really gave these parts the love they deserved. Another thing they changed is they added another wavelength. They always had the two that were tested in studies, and now they added a third one, deep near infrared, which I admit I haven't really read much about so I have to look into that a little more. I'm not sure why they added it, but I am really excited to test this."

"I've been using this now for I want to say five or six years now consistently, I use this literally every single day. This is the current body series 2 face mask, and I also have the neck and chest as well, and I use the two together at the same time. Everything is a 10 minute treatment. [...] I actually look forward to it every day because I find it to be very relaxing, and I always love the way that my skin looks as well when I'm done, because I've been so consistent with it that now my skin just constantly is bright, it just looks more rejuvenated, more youthful. [...] I have nothing negative to say about this. It [...] has the red, the near infrared light technology as well as deep near infrared, which helps to penetrate even deeper into the tissue to help stimulate collagen further. This is just fabulous, this is 10 out of 10. [...] This is a great at-home device to use on an everyday basis and a great way to help prevent and treat early signs of aging and discoloration in a gentle way. This is so gentle, [...] it is gamechanging."

"With the series 2, this contains more LED bulbs. It also contains deep near infrared along with red and near infrared light. And I can't recommend this enough. This has really made a big difference with my skin. And it's honestly a great product to rejuvenate the skin as well. [...] If you've been wanting to try an LED mask, try the CurrentBody one. This does not disappoint."

"This is one of the best things that I've ever added to my skincare routine. [...] I use the series 2 neck and deck as well as the face mask. [...] This one contains additional LED bulbs from series 1, and it also contains an extra wavelength called deep near infrared, which penetrates even deeper into the skin to help stimulate collagen and to give a brighter complexion. I use this every single morning, and if I don't use this in the morning, then I'm using this at night time. I pretty much use this every single day. [...] It's a 10-minute treatment and I do wear them at the same time. [...] If you struggle with post acne marks, that uneven skin tone, LED therapy can help to even out your skin, brightening up your complexion, helping to stimulate collagen, and it really helps with fine lines and wrinkles."

"This one I do find does emit more heat, more warmth. It's not hot, you're not sweating by the end of the treatment, but I do feel that this one is a little bit warmer when I'm wearing it compared to Series One. If I had to pick between either one, I do like the upgraded one way more because of the upgraded technology but also the design of the mask."

"The CurrentBody set had the most comfortable fit of anything I owned, plus it has more LED lights than just about everything out there, so these were huge winners. It has been my go to for years and those masks are excellent. If you already have the CurrentBody Series II, you do not need to buy the new Aura."

YOUR Favourite Beauty Products of the Year (According to You)
"It's CurrentBody's Series 2 LED red light therapy mask. She is a powerhouse LED mask with 236 LED bulbs, more than any other mask on the market. It hugs the face beautifully and it has an additional strap under the chin to tackle that wobbly double chin situation. And I really like the strap that goes over the head because it keeps everything nice and secure. She's expensive, but I have a great coat which helps."

"The second item I want to mention from CurrentBody is their new CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask Series 2. [...] I haven't done a video yet, I'm still testing, but the design is really different and I am digging it. It has a lot more lights than the previous version, I think it's 236 versus 132, plus it also has a new extra deep infrared wavelength. [...] This mask by CurrentBody, it's their second generation mask, and it's really different than anything else I've tried. It is so incredibly lightweight, you don't even feel it. The cool thing too is it has these built-in goggles which are super soft and they don't press into your face, which is why I never wear the goggles with masks, because they just leave these huge indentations, that's the last thing I want. Plus they actually protect your eyes, it completely blocks out the light, you do not see it, and I know that some people are really sensitive to that light so it kind of solves all those problems. This also has a variety of wavelengths, it has red, infrared, blue, and yellow lights."
⭐️ Which LED Face Mask Is Right for You? | Honest Comparison of 5 Top Masks
"This mask has 236 LED bulbs, so this knocks pretty much everyone out of the park. The session time is 10 minutes. This mask is FDA cleared. Not only does it have more lights, they've really updated the shape. It hugs the face and it has this additional strap under the chin with eight lights of its own, so you're able to target the neglected jowls. It's super comfortable to wear because it wraps around your entire face. The additional strap at the top makes the biggest difference. It feels as snug as a bug in a rug. I love that the eye and the mouth holes are even smaller, so I feel like I'm getting really good coverage all over. There's no fancy controller, it's a simple on and off for 10 minutes, but it does have a little clip so that I can strap it on and run around and do things. It is bright, so user beware. It doesn't bother me at all. For 10 minutes I can live with it. I think this mask is for those who want the biggest bang for their buck, the hardest hitting, hardest working mask. I think this is for the power player."
I Replaced Two LED Masks With One... Here's Why

"The CurrentBody CB Series 2 is silicone, form-fitting, and super comfortable with lights under the chin area. It has three different wavelengths: the traditional 633 red light, the 830 near infrared light, and a 1072 nanometer wavelength for around the mouth and under eye area, which are big concern areas for mature skin. I love this mask because it's super form-fitting and comfortable. I tried it with girlfriends and they all chose the comfort of this one over the Aura. The quick 10-minute treatment is super easy to use."

If I Lost All My Skincare Device, Here's How I'd Start Over at 50+
"CurrentBody's CB2 red light therapy mask is easily my most used skincare device this year. I test a lot of LED red light therapy masks, and the reason the CurrentBody Series 2 is the one I'm reaching for the most is because it's so comfortable, it's only ten minutes, and it's easy to travel with, so I can stay consistent. I know it's going to give me the right wavelengths and the right dose, but the reason I reach for it is comfort over anything else. [...] I'm probably the most consistent ever using LED red light therapy because of this mask."

LED Devices, are they worth the hype? | Dr. Jenny Liu
"For anti-aging, you really want to look for devices that contain red light, near infrared light, and better yet deep near infrared light to give you a more comprehensive treatment to improve those fine lines, wrinkles, and skin firmness. Since wavelengths are essential for the efficacy of the mask, this is why I love the CurrentBody Series 2 LED mask because it does really contain all three lights that have been shown and backed by clinical studies to have an effective result on your skin when it comes to skin rejuvenation. It contains a red light at 630 NM, the near infrared light at 830 NM, as well as the deep near infrared light at 1072 NM combining together to give you the results that you're looking for. Now having the right wavelength is only part of the story. You need to make sure that the device also has enough LEDs to work effectively to deliver that energy, and this is where the CurrentBody Series 2 LED mask contains 236 LED lights to really give you that comprehensive full facial treatment to deliver optimal and even treatments. I also love that CurrentBody not only makes effective masks based on the wavelength and the number of LED lights, but you also know that you're getting a high quality product that actually does what it claims to do and is effective. All of CurrentBody's masks undergo rigorous testing for quality control."

"They kindly sent me the CurrentBody series 2 LED mask years ago and it's been by far my favorite LED mask I've ever owned. I get a lot of offers from other red light companies but I decline them because I don't think they're better than CurrentBody. I think CurrentBody has the best red light therapy treatment on the market, theirs is the one that matches the scientific literature and actually provides the specs so you know what you're using. I see clearer skin, more radiant skin, and better wound healing from using it."

SPOIL MOM this Mother's Day: Best Skincare Gifts!
"CurrentBody continues to be the mask I respect, recommend, and use, because it actually matches the research, unlike a lot of sketchy LED masks out there that don't use the correct wavelengths. The Series 2 uses 236 LED bulbs emitting three clinically proven wavelengths, red at 633 for collagen, near infrared at 830 for firming, and the newer 1072 to get deeper into the skin for more advanced signs of aging, plus extra deep near infrared bulbs around the eyes and mouth. It has the best fit out of all the LED masks I've tried, it's lightweight, molds to your face, and gets the LEDs close to your skin, and the strap is actually comfortable, which a lot of brands mess up. I've been using mine for years and it still works just as well now as it did then, no LEDs have gone out. As someone with dry, acne prone skin, I've seen real benefits myself with keeping my skin clear and fighting inflammation. Yes you spend more up front, but when you calculate the cost per use it gets down to about a dollar per use if you're consistent, so it's a fantastic gift to pamper mom, and I can confirm moms enjoy this gift."
Skincare Devices I Still Use (& Devices I Regret!)
"Of course it's going to be LED masks in general, and my favorite one is still, two years in a row, the CurrentBody Series 2. My first ever big skincare device was an LED mask, and it's still my top recommendation for a device. LED has the most published literature, the most documented studies, and the lowest risk associated with it. With LED you get this long list of benefits, it improves collagen production, elastin production, and helps with wound healing, all without interacting with the products you use. If you take care of these devices they should last you years, and the CurrentBody Series 2 is still the top of the line."

If you bought it in 2024, you still have the best technology."

"This is the Series 2, an incredible anti-aging option. There's evidence in the primary literature that this helps with boosting collagen production, hence helping with smoothing the skin and plumping. The Series 2 has that additional wavelength, and it fits the best out of every mask."
Updated Skincare Routine! K-Beauty & LED for Sensitive Skin
"I've been using the Series 2 face mask since about October of last year, now with the neck attachment as well. It uses both the 633 and the 830 nanometer wavelengths, which gives you the benefits of red light. I always talk about this as my highest recommendation for a skincare device because we have the most data supporting it, in the studies we've seen an increase in collagen production, an increase in elastin leading to more elasticity, a reduction in wrinkles, an increase in ATP, and an increase in wound healing. That wound healing benefit is exactly what I've noticed in my own skin. When I stopped using LED in January my acne started lingering instead of healing quickly like it used to, and once I started using it again three to five times a week I went right back to bouncing back fast from breakouts. As a person with sensitive skin I also love that I don't have to worry about interactions with other products, I just apply it on clean skin."
Best High End Skincare of 2024!
"For 2025, absolutely hands down my top pick for a device was the CurrentBody Series 2 LED mask. I still like Cure's mask, but specifically what CurrentBody did with that additional wavelength, I feel like they came through with the best device of 2024."
Best Skincare GIFTS: Skincare Sets, Tech, Storage, & More!
"This is the very first characteristic that made me love the CurrentBody Series 2 mask, they call it their best fit design, and that's a really good way of putting it. I really like this coming from the hard shell design, but I also think you'd like it just as much coming from the soft flexible design, because it really is the best of both worlds. They thought of everything, including the wider strap that improves comfort and the eye inserts that help block the LED from hitting your eyes. It has 236 LED bulbs plus additional infrared, and it matches the current literature on wavelengths and radiance. Every mask is tested to ensure it meets those parameters, which no other mask on the market does. I would recommend the Series 2 mask because you're getting a more advanced user experience and probably more advanced results, and in my opinion the added cost is very reasonable and well worth it."
Skincare SPLURGES: what is really WORTH IT?!
"This is the new LED mask with even more advanced technology, the CurrentBody Series 2 LED face mask, and it has to be the most advanced option I've personally seen. It contains 236 LED bulbs with three well documented wavelengths, and CurrentBody shares their irradiance number, which is important information that I really respect them sharing. The mask is programmed for a 10 minute treatment, and every mask is tested with a Veritas NFC card to make sure it meets those parameters. The new flexible, contoured shape makes it travel friendly and comfortable to wear, which lets the LEDs sit closer to your skin for better results. This is relatively new to me, about 6 weeks of testing so far, but looking at my before and afters I realized how much easier it's been to manage my skin. I do feel I'm seeing clearer and brighter skin in spite of the obstacles I've been facing."

"I already have their neck and deck mask, which I absolutely love. I have their LED light panel also. When they asked me if I wanted to try the series 2 LED therapy mask, it was something I was genuinely very very interested in because LED light therapy is something I've already invested in for myself, especially from current body. LED light therapy has become incredibly popular over the last few years, particularly as beauty shifted towards skin focused routines rather than makeup focused routines. Red light helps target the appearance of fine lines and boosts radiance. Near infrared light helps support skin repair and recovery. Deep near infrared light is designed to reach deeper layers associated with firmness and more visible signs of aging. This isn't just some gimmicky thing. This is scientifically backed studies that are proven to work. The series 2 includes dedicated deep near infrared LEDs around the eyes and mouth which are often the first areas where people start noticing fine lines and other signs of aging. Consumer trials showed improvement in skin's brightness, skin tone, and texture and redness and the appearance of fine lines after consistent use. What stood out to me about current body is that it focuses less on flashy marketing claims and more on what actually determines whether LED light mask can deliver results. Current body tells us there are three things that matter: consistent coverage, wavelength precision, and delivering the correct dose of light. The mask comes with a remote that has a clip so it can actually clip onto you. I added on the eye guards to my mask which I think is a really nice touch. You have a choice of straps. It's incredibly easy to use. You just strap on the mask, hold down the power button, and your red LED lights will come on. It will time itself for 10 minutes and then turn itself off. Current body hasn't just placed those wavelengths randomly throughout the mask. What really stood out to me about current body is their Veritas system, designed to make sure the device you receive matches those same specifications. Every LED is individually tested before assembly and then every completed mask is tested again for wavelength accuracy, power output and energy dose. Every single mask is verified against the same clinical standards the studies were based on. Each mask comes with its own verit test card which allows you to view the testing information for your specific device. As somebody who's tested a lot of beauty devices over the years, I think that level of transparency is genuinely very interesting because it's not something you see very often. This LED mask is extremely extremely flexible. It's made from silicone. It sits very closely to the face because it wraps around your face. That closer fit helps ensure the light reaches the skin as effectively as possible while still being comfortable to wear."

"This is a red light mask which helps to reduce inflammation, stimulate collagen, help target fine lines and wrinkles. It can even help with reducing acne on the skin as well. It's a really good preventative type of product. It's an investment money and time-wise, but I have found using this consistently has really contributed to that glow. My skin is more plump. It's even-toned. It's more glowy, and I'm absolutely loving the results of this. I wear the mask for about 10 minutes, and when the timer goes off, it is time to take it off and proceed with the rest of my skincare routine."

"When I take the mask off, I do have a little bit of an immediate glowy kind of look to my skin for the day, but that glow keeps up consistently when you're using it a few times a week. About three times a week. So my current impressions of the Series 2 mask from CurrentBody Skin are very positive. This is an investment for your skin, no doubt about it at $469. It is a big investment. Having used the Series 1 mask in 2022, and I did use it 2023, 2024, but now having used the Series 2 mask, I really feel like the changes that they've made, the upgrades are actually upgrades. I do feel like the upgrades have made a difference to this mask."

"I have a pretty good idea about what I like and don't like in red light masks and this has a lot of things that I like. This is actually the first red light mask that I've used that has flexibility to it, which I really like. The other ones I've used have been that hard plastic which have always created discomfort for me, and so I really like the design of this because it flexes. It fits really nicely, molds to my face. It does slip a little bit but generally I can get up and walk around with this if I really needed to, and it stays in place and it's not slipping too much. Just the fact that it is flexible like this has actually made this the most comfortable one that I've used. I also really like that you're not tethered to an outlet. You charge the battery pack on one end so you can charge this without it being attached to the mask. This only takes 10 minutes to use and what I've really noticed is that it definitely helps to keep the skin just looking really fresh, really vibrant. It really brings a lot of vitality to the skin. I think it helps with texture. It's definitely helped with hyperpigmentation."

"It's got 110 of the 633 wavelength, 110 of the 830 wavelength, and 16 of the deep near infrared at 1072. The difference between this mask and other masks is that it's a shaped mask and it has an underneath the chin strap. Most of the other masks are just flat and they don't have anything under here. This is by far my favorite mask and this is the one that I'm using currently. [...] I'm continuing to use it every other day. [...] It's got really great bulb coverage with 115 bulbs. The wavelengths are 633 nm red light and 830 nm near infrared light. It's bigger than most neck and chest masks, so it covers more area. It goes deeper and gives me more bulbs around the sides of my neck. [...] I just started using this one maybe around Black Friday, [...] so I've only had it for about a month, but this is the one that I'm going forward with this year."

BEST Early Black Friday Beauty DEALS!
"I've compared all the deals on all the masks and I've got to say the best deal for the best mask is the one from Current Body. This is the Current Body Series 2 [...] mask. There's a couple things that make this mask so special. Number one is the number of bulbs. The average red light mask will have between 50 and 65 bulbs of each color. This mask has 110 bulbs of each color of the red and the near infrared. That means that every inch of your face is getting bathed in that red light, that near infrared light that really is going to help. Those are the most proven wavelengths with the most study on them that they are actually going to help your skin. And they're also the most accurate bulbs on the market. So much so that it comes with a bulb accuracy certificate for you so that you know that these bulbs are accurate within 2 nanometers."
Faves + Fails March 2025
"The winning mask from that video was this one from Current Body, the CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask Series 2. They really set out to beat the Omnilux mask and I got to say that they have done it because they included so many light bulbs. This has 110 of each color wavelength in it where the Omnilux mask has 66, so it's almost double in number of lights, which for me means better coverage on my skin. It's really easy to operate, one click and it comes on. It also has light bulbs here along the upper lip and it has a chin strap and the chin strap has eight light bulbs in it so that you're getting coverage under here where almost all of the other masks leave off. It is at a higher price point, it's well above $400, but I do have a 10% off discount code that I'll put next to the link in the info box if you're interested in this one."
WATCH BEFORE Buying A Red Light MASK | JOVS, QURE, OMNILUX, CURRENT BODY + more
"Current Body took on Omnilux went head-to-head and topped the Omnilux mask. They put in so many bulbs that is fantastic. I feel like you're getting really good coverage on every inch of your skin with this one. They're really keen on getting the bulbs to be almost exactly the wavelength of light. You can also verify your wavelengths on an app so they're really into being fully transparent and giving you all the information that you need to know to make your mask purchasing decision. This mask is FDA cleared. The wavelength of the red is 633 and that's plus or minus 2 nanometers, so extremely close. The near infrared is 830 nanometers, also plus or minus 2. This one does have the 1072 wavelength. This is where this one really shines. It has 110 of the 633 nanometers, it has 110 of the 830 near infrareds, of the 1072 it's got 16 bulbs under the eyes and around the mouth. The intensity on this one is 30 milliwatts per centimeter squared. The joules are 18. The session time 10 minutes."

"My most used skin device was the CurrentBody LED therapy mask, the Series 2. It fits the face so beautifully and is fabulous. Since I was pregnant all year I couldn't use microcurrent, [...] so LED was one I could use, [...] and it works so well and improves your skin over time."

a few things that have brought me joy lately ❤️‍🩹
"It was pretty gloomy and snowy here, which really did a number on my mood, [...] and I've just craved light, so something that really helped me was this CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask, the Series 2 mask. I've talked about this before, it's so fabulous, fits like a glove. I liked it, and I still love it, because it's so bright and I could just close my eyes and pretend I was on a beach somewhere. It was also nice because I don't personally like to multitask with an LED light mask on, so I felt like I was able to just take a break from everything [...] and let my mind rest as much as possible. I really enjoyed that all over again. I'm still enjoying that, it's so great."
The Absolute BEST MAKEUP from September 2024 😍
"This is the CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask Series 2 and it is so good. I've always been a fan of LED light therapy and because I've been able to use it for over a month I can honestly say this is my favorite LED mask that I have tried. It's so innovative even down to the shape and the materials. If you've seen most LED masks they're very flat and it kind of isn't the most comfortable thing on the face, but this has a gorgeous soft silicone shape and it actually has a panel underneath the chin that has lights in it as well but it's already molded in a more circular way so it is the most comfortable mask. There's the two straps on the side but it also comes with a strap for the top as well if you want a little extra support. Another really fabulous little detail that they thought of was to put a clip on the little power button right here because there's nothing worse than having your LED mask and needing to go walk around somewhere, and I would always just stuff this in my shirt or try to fit it in the elastic of my pants and it would always fall and unplug, but this has a nice little clip."

"What makes this particular mask special, the Series 2 mask, is that it also has deep near infrared light with 1072 nm. So you have three highly precise wavelengths in this mask. You have the red light at 633 nm. You have the near infrared light at 830 nm. And then you have the near infrared, the deep near infrared at 1072 nm, which means that the light can penetrate much deeper into the subcutaneous layer of your skin. Plus, the fit of the mask is super flexible and very comfortable and easy to use on your face. What I love the most about this company is the quality control is topnotch. In order for them to achieve target precision, Current Body literally checks every single bulb and only approves one out of every four bulbs that they use in the Series 2 masks. I would recommend using this for fine lines and wrinkles and any signs of aging, usually appearing in your late 20s to mid30s."

Best Skincare for Your 30s: Anti-aging, Oily Skin, Hormonal/Adult Acne & More! | Dr. Shereene Idriss
"This mask has red, near infrared, and deep near infrared light, all which attack different things. The red light helps with wrinkle reduction, inflammation reducing, etc., whereas the near infrared can also go in a little bit deeper into your mitochondria to help with cellular regeneration. But the deep near infrared light can go even deeper into the subcutaneous tissue, even affecting muscle enhancement and muscle tone. So it really does hit three different levels. [...] One out of four light bulbs are used in production when they make this mask and they guarantee quality control. They have a program in which they are checking the wavelength of every single individual LED that is put into this mask. [...] Current Body through their program now allows you to see every single light bulb that they used in their mask to guarantee that it is adequately quality controlled. The key with this mask, like any device that you're going to use, is going to be consistency. If you're going to want to see results with this, you want to use it every single night."

"I think one of the best red light masks on the market is the Current Body Series 2 red light mask and it's something I've been recommending to patients and friends long before this video. Not only does this mask use clinically validated wavelengths of red light and near infrared light, they've also been super thoughtful about the way they designed this mask to fit the face, so it's very comfortable and very easy to use. One of the biggest determinants of whether or not your red light mask is going to work well and deliver the results you're looking for like clearer skin, brighter skin, firmer skin is how close those bulbs actually sit to the skin, and I think Current Body has done a great job making sure that you have a super close fit. Compared to so many other masks I have tried, they've really nailed the fit around the mouth, around the chin, and around the eyes, which are big aging zones and a lot of masks have gaps in those areas. Another issue I see that arises with other red light masks is there's no verification process so you don't really know if what you think you're getting is what you are actually getting, but with the Current Body Series 2 mask you get something called a Veritoss NFC card which you essentially scan and it tells you what the exact specs of your specific mask are, so you're actually getting the wavelengths that you're expecting."

Holy Grail Skincare Gift Guide 2024 from a Dermatologist | Dr. Sam Ellis
"The first thing on my gift guide is the CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask Series 2. I have this Series 2 mask but I also own the original CurrentBody mask, which was fine, it had the right wavelengths of light, but I didn't feel like it fit the face as perfectly as it could have. They've made so many upgrades for the Series 2 mask. The way this newer mask fits the face is so much better, it's comfortable, it wraps around your face, and it has an additional strap that goes over the top of your head so it's really secure. Aside from the mask being more comfortable and a better fit for your face, they've also added an additional wavelength of light to this mask. When we think about the benefits of red light LED, there are a few different wavelengths that make it the most therapeutic: one is red light, which is 633 nanometers, two is near infrared light, which is 830 nanometers, which is what most masks have, but now more red light masks are incorporating a third wavelength of light that penetrates even deeper for even better collagen stimulation, and that's 1072 nanometers. So this mask is essentially hitting skin rejuvenation at all the right levels. I've definitely talked about other light therapy masks that I've used in the past and loved, but the thing that's going on with this CurrentBody mask that is sort of above and beyond is the way they've distributed the light bulbs. For a lot of masks that are out there, you don't get a great distribution of light around the eyes and around the lips, but those are two of the areas that often need the most help when it comes to skin rejuvenation, so I love that the Series 2 mask has such great distribution there."
