"You can definitely use tretinoin if you've never used retinol before. I would ease into it and start with the lowest dose, which is 0.25% retinol. You can get it written by your dermatologist in the office or you could go to Curology. If you're new to retinol, I would go with the 0.25% retinol because it's the starter retinol. This one also has a lot of calming and soothing ingredients in it to really calm an irritated barrier in someone who is using tretinoin for the first time."

"I was on that for about six months to a year on a relatively low dose of tretinoin including some other acne fighting ingredients.
