What they liked

  • Hydrating without being occlusive or oily
  • Works well under makeup

What they flagged

  • Comes in a jar, requires a spatula

What the gurus are saying

Breathable and silky, this cream's light, airy texture makes it ideal for oily and combination skin without sealing the face off. The propolis brings anti-inflammatory and soothing benefits, and the hydrating formula stays weightless, a balance that works any season and even before makeup. The one drawback: it comes in a jar, so a spatula keeps things sanitary.

"This feels a little lighter than Beauty of Joseon's cream. I used to use it a lot on my clients because it's pretty okay for everybody. It has a little scent but not too bad. Propolis is good for acne because it's anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. I like it, it's hydrating but it's not super heavy, and it's great before makeup because it's not too oily so it doesn't tangle with your makeup. My only issue is it's a jar type, so you have to use a spatula."

"The other product from COSRX that I saw that's on sale that I absolutely love is their Full Fit Propolis Light Cream. This one's 10 bucks so a really good deal because I think I got this right when it was first coming out, I think it was like 25 bucks or so, so this is a pretty good discount. This stuff is really nice, hydrating yet light feeling and really nice texture."

"I think it's a really nice light type of cream. It has an airy lotion-like feel to it, it's not a heavy dense buttery type of cream, it's very breathable. It actually has a good amount of hydration to it and a really nice light breathable moisture with very very little occlusivity, just a hint. So if you're looking for more of those lighter, airier types of moisturizers, really breathable, that don't really seal your skin off, this could be a really excellent choice."

"But it's such a breathable cream, it is so silky and light and really airy on the skin. The propolis is bringing that balance that really helps to soothe skin. So this is my pick for those who need a little bit more moisture but don't need a lot of thickness, that don't need a lot of richness, something that is just going to ease your skin into these colder drier temperatures without overwhelming it."

"Another fabulous ingredient that is honey or propolis extract. COSRX Full Fit Propolis Light Cream, you get about 65 ml, actually normal 50 ml but 15 ml more. The retail price is 2,200 rupees, 261 rupees. This is a light moisturizer, it's like a whipped jelly moisturizer, it's literally like applying a little whipped cream on your face, beautiful texture. The honey hydrates your skin, and particularly if you're looking at this particular cream, your skin barrier needs to be built constantly."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
