What the gurus are saying

This watery toner earns praise for its peptide blend and poly glutamic acid, which gurus say hydrate without heaviness and work well for oily or combination skin. The texture is the standout: consistently described as incredibly lightweight and fast-absorbing, it layers seamlessly under treatments and leaves skin with a natural, non-greasy finish. One expert flagged misleading labeling on the Centella asiatica claim, noting the concentration is minimal, though they confirmed the product itself is soothing and safe for a compromised skin barrier; a few others caution that morning use with sunscreen may feel heavy on very oily skin, so evening application may suit those with oiliness best.

"If you're someone who really likes snail mucin, this is one that I think you will really like. If you hated snail mucin, like it didn't work for you, then I would stay away from this because it has a very similar consistency, a similar texture. But here's where this product has really been one that I think flies under the radar. It's that it's got poly glutamic acid in it, which I don't know why brands are not so generous with this ingredient because it compliments hyaluronic acid really well or performs really well on its own because it is hydrating but it creates this slippery soothing film on the surface of the skin to also reduce water loss. So it has occlusive properties but it's not heavy. Wonderful option to consider if you have very oily or what you consider combination skin where you have patches of oiliness and dryness. It addresses the needs of the skin barrier without feeling super greasy or heavy. You can use it at night time after cleansing, apply it as a first step after cleansing at night or if you're using another product that is more of a liquid, thinner texture, you would put that on first and then this on over. It works really well as a standalone moisturizer at that point, especially if you're going to put a topical retinoid on over it."

"It says it's got 100% Centella asiatica. This is just not true. The first ingredient in here is water. You're looking at 99% water in this product. Then it's got butylene glycol, then it's got 1,2-hexanediol, and then the fourth ingredient in here is Centella. So you're looking at a fraction of a percent of Centella, maybe 1% in this entire thing. And then calling it 100% Centella asiatica, I don't like it because you're being misled. I really don't like that for my skin of color family. But having said this, it's a naysafe product and it's actually a lovely product if you're looking for something that is just hydrating and soothing to the skin. If you have a damaged skin barrier, I'm happy for you to use this. Are you going to get any brightening effects with it? No. Is it going to help with texture? No. Is it going to help with fine lines? No. But it is naysafe and it's going to be good if you have a dehydrated barrier."

"I'm going to use the tear tier milky toner despite what it looks like. I've been using this for some time and it just never seems to go down. It's a very nice, more on the moisturizing side of milky toners but still nice and light. It smells a little bit like plastic."

"This stands apart as one of the best options when it comes to those of us that need a little anti-aging boost and need a little extra hydration. You've got that coverage in this style of product. It finishes not dewy, not glossy or greasy, it's just a guaranteed good skin day, and I love that. If you like guaranteed good skin with some extra hydration and a dose of peptides, this is the one."

She recommended this and I have purchased probably 10 plus bottles at this point. Anua Skincare 🆕 7 Rice Ceramide Hydrating Barrier Serum Review, How to Use, Dupes & Alternatives
"I most often use it in my evening routine but certain days in the morning when my skin's feeling dry. It feels nice to use but for oilier skin I have a feeling that using this in your morning routine especially if you're going to use it with sunscreen and anything else it could be a bit over the top and a bit too much. Just pat it to soak it in but it does take a little bit of time to soak in. If you have oily skin using it at night is great then you just let it soak in while you're sleeping. Once it soaks in it goes to kind of a radiant finish which is nice and glowy. The beneficial ingredients in this one include rice bran water which is emollient, rice extract which is soothing and emollient, niacinamide which is anti-acne and skin brightening, hydroxyurea which is a urea derivative with humectant benefits, panthenol which is a great soothing and hydrating ingredient, sodium hyaluronic which is another good humectant, and Cornus officinalis leaf extract which is anti-inflammatory and really good for hydrating skin and I can't say I've ever seen it before in another product."

"I do find that they make great essences and toners and it's their peptide booster for those individuals who can't get over that sticky tackiness. This is one that is a must try. It is super watery, super lightweight. You pump onto your palms like two pumps, you pat it all over your skin after cleansing, absorbs really quickly and because it's so lightweight it's very versatile in the sense I find that many people can benefit from this product. I also love the ingredients, especially for those who are tackling anti-aging concerns. It has a blend of various different peptides including copper tripeptide. Copper has been huge and I think it's going to continue to grow in popularity because number one it's antioxidant, it's anti-inflammatory, has wound healing properties and also has been shown as one of the few peptides that can truly help to support collagen synthesis. With how watery and lightweight this product is, it's really helpful for tackling fine lines and wrinkles. It also has niacinamide in there and also various different blends of amino acids. So just all around a wonderful lightweight product, really easy to incorporate into your morning and evening routine."
