What the gurus are saying

Gurus agree this formula delivers solid barrier support and hydration, but split sharply on wearability. Some find it excellent for warm weather and genuinely impressed by performance once settled. Others flag it as too greasy and tacky for daytime use, especially problematic for acne-prone skin and under makeup. The high humectant content means it needs time to fully absorb, and the slippy texture is a dividing point: some tolerate it, others find it slimy. Best suited to nighttime or specific skin types.

"When I tested this out last year in the spring, it was actually kind of the perfect moisturizer for my skin at that time and it was starting to get into later spring and even in the summer, I was using this moisturizer and really really enjoying it. The occlusivity here is very light. I could use this in warm weather. This is more robust for fighting dehydration quite honestly just because of the occlusive content. We do have the ceramides in here and it will strengthen your skin barrier. This is actually a little bit more healing in my opinion. In my experience, this is definitely something that just delivers a little bit more of that skin barrier strengthening just because of the ceramide content in here. I also like that it hydrates your skin at the same time because it's really helping to soothe that dehydration."

"Give it a couple of minutes. It will fully settle, fully dry, fully absorb into the skin and then it's not sticky. It's not tacky. You'll still get a little bit of glow, but it's not like peeling up on you or anything like that once it's settled into the skin. I just feel that it needs a little bit more time than the moisturizer that you're probably used to, and I think that's just due to the humectant content in here being quite high. But otherwise I was won over by this. I didn't think I was going to like it just based on the feel alone, but there's something about this formula that's really hard-hitting. I was really impressed with this one and I do not regret buying it."

"For acne-prone skin, I think the chances of a breakout are going to be higher than the benefits of using this. There's nothing superstar, no antioxidants or anti-aging, it's just a moisturizer and it's a simple, plain moisturizer. It feels slimy and slippery, and I don't think you'd like the feeling of this one, especially during the daytime. It feels like it's going to peel, which some hyaluronic products are prone to. I'm not loving the feeling of it, and if it were a hot day, I just can't imagine the feeling of that underneath makeup and things like that, so it might be a better nighttime option. It's on the thicker side."

COSRX New! Ceramide Skin Barrier Moisturizer for Face with 7 Ceramides, Hyaluronic Acid & Panthenol
"It feels nice, just slightly greasy, not too shiny, and it feels hydrating, but to me it's not screaming as a morning skincare routine product. It's definitely on the thicker side. For beneficial ingredients, you've got ceramides, cholesterol, and panthenol for soothing, squalane, glycerin, vitamin E, and hyaluronic acid. If you have acne-prone skin, be warned and be careful. It's on the thicker side, so maybe during the winter this could be a morning moisturizer, but it just feels a little greasy. It's got a lot of slip to it, which can be a good thing or a bad thing, but I'm thinking this is going to be too greasy-feeling for a lot of daytime routines."

COSRX New! Ceramide Skin Barrier Moisturizer for Face with 7 Ceramides, Hyaluronic Acid & Panthenol
"I feel like some of those fatty acids are going to be a bit too much, but there's a lot of ceramide skin barrier moisture creams that tend to work well for me. Nothing screams hero about it, just seems simple, no frills, basic moisturizer. It's a nice big bottle, might be better for my neck and décolletage area than my face. The sunscreen worked okay over it. It didn't peel up, but it did feel like if I put a little bit more on it would start peeling."
