What the gurus are saying

A fragranced salicylic acid body wash stands out because most in the category are unscented and smell unpleasant, while this one carries a watermelon scent that earned genuine praise. One reviewer loves the 1% salicylic acid as gentle yet effective for breakout-prone skin, but the other finds it underpowered and prefers 10% benzoyl peroxide. It's inexpensive at around £8, making it worth trying if fragrance is part of your routine.

"I use salicylic acid because I break out on my chest and back, particularly at the gym, but [...] I hate the smell of it and most salicylic acid body washes are fragrance-free and smell awful. This is the Chemist at Play Salicylic Acid Body Wash, a fragranced Salicylic Acid Body Wash, and if you want something that smells genuinely lovely, this is really nice, it's just a fun fragrance, [...] like watermelon. [...] I paid eight pounds for it, really inexpensive, 1% salicylic acid, which is what you want. [...] It's a really nice gentle cleanser with the salicylic acid to do the work. You don't need this if you already have your favorite salicylic acid, but if you're looking for a nice fragrance with it, I take this to the gym and someone actually complimented [...] the scent [...] and said they were going to get it too."

"The Salicylic Acid Body Wash is the second product I've barely used, and I think it's okay, but whatever. It's 1% salicylic acid and it's supposed to prevent body acne, but 1% salicylic body, you need a little more concentration. Salicylic works better than benzoyl peroxide, which is why in all of my body acne routines I've always recommended Panoxyl Wash, which is 10% benzoyl peroxide. So this one is a good to have but not something I've really used."
