What the gurus are saying

One expert counts Charlotte Tilbury among their favorite skincare lines, but another finds the brand's formulations average and overpriced relative to what drugstore and more affordable alternatives deliver. That reviewer sees the crushed-crystal serum as more marketing gimmick than genuine innovation, and notes the line rarely generates organic conversation outside of gifting or sponsored content. The tension here is real: brand heritage and British glamour appeal to some, but formulation quality and value for money remain points of genuine disagreement among those who've tried it.

"I think more time is focused on that than actually creating something unique when it comes to their skincare. But don't get me wrong, part of me loves Charlotte Tilbury as like, a British institution. It's camp, it's very panto, it's very British. And I kind of actually really respect that. I like the old glamour, I like what it stands for, but I just don't think the products are great. I do not think the products are that good. When it comes to the skin care, I tried better drugstore stuff. It's fine."

"I appreciate Charlotte Tilbury as a British institution and I enjoy the camp of the brand, but the skincare is average to moderate in my opinion. I've never quite seen a skincare brand at such high price points where you could find more affordable products that are actually so much better, better formulated and nicer to use. Their serum with a ton of crushed crystals in is just kind of like a gimmick to me, and I think just a weird excuse to charge more for a serum. I don't see people talking about it unless they've been gifted it or they're doing a sponsored job for it or it's an advert. Some expensive products are worth your money, but I just don't believe Charlotte Tilbury is."
